had a great meal with the family - the beef suet pudding is worth the trip alone, lovely food and ambience

Lovely meal, fast service. Generous portions. Premises a little tired post covid. Didn't use Amy of the rooms, hence no comment. Pleasant enough amongst stunning countryside.

Excellent accommodation, extremely pleasant and helpful staff, first-class chef and one of the most welcoming and friendly places we have stayed in the Dales. We would highly recommend the Racehorses. We will certainly be going back.

Great pub food. The Sunday lunch had a fabulous selection of perfectly cooked al dente vegetables. The beef was lovely and tender. The other half ordered beef suet crust pie which was tasty and filling, the chips were outstanding. Some wines by the glass that were different from the normal pub offerings. The staff were efficient and service was prompt. Highly recommend.

My wife & I, along with our pooch, visited the Racehorses last night. Very nice pub, good selection of ales and a friendly landlord with a sense of humour. Out of the blue our dog needed a poop but was unable to reach the exit without making a mess! Mortified doesn't cut it but the staff were simply superb. I obviously tried to clean it up but they came to the rescue, they were brilliant. I can't thank them enough for their kindness, patience & understanding with a situation not in their remit! Amazing people, thank you so much and, once again, my apologies.

We were just out exploring the countryside and decided to go to Kettlewell and have lunch. It was just a coincidence that we came across this hotel and decided to pull in for something to eat. One of our party is disabled and in a wheelchair and they do not have disabled toilets which was disappointing as he needed to go whilst we were there. It was a bit tricky manoeuvring him as there were a couple of steps to navigate, but we managed. The bar and resteraunt was empty as it was 2 o'clock and we were the only ones inside. We ordered food and drink and the service was very good indeed and couldn't fault it. Nice and friendly. The food, on the other hand was awful. There were 3 of us, and two of us ordered fish and chips and the other scampi and chips. The fish was more batter, and the fish itself was so thin it was virtually non-existent and overcooked as it was so thin, the edges of the fish being crispy. The chips were anaemic and looked as though they had come out of the freezer and not hand-made as you would have expected for the high price they charged. The scampi was not much better, only a few pieces and again expensive. Overall, it was an expensive lunch for what we got. When asked if everything was OK, my friend pointed this out, and hopefully, they will take note of our disappointment in the food. The rest being fine.

Lovely location but the beer garden out the back is a letdown. No ham after ordering. So lemony syrup in pump but they did replace with fever tree

We stopped by here halfway through a walk. The staff were very pleasant. We ordered tea and this comes as individual tea pots of hot water with the teabag served on the side for you to brew your own tea. I don’t think tea brews as well when you don’t pour the hot water directly on the teabag and it was confusing. Otherwise very good.

It’s a shame the bedroom doesn’t have blinds that properly close. As soon as it started to get light outside, the room lit up. Really not great if needing a bit of a rest! Would have made a world of difference just by having proper blinds.
