Best Pork Pie I have ever tasted. Wonderful pastry and often still warm when bought. Pork chops were some of the most tender and tasty and had a sirloin from the in shop fridge which was superb. Great place to buy meat. Oh and the sliced ham is delicious. And they have shops in Knaresborough and Wetherby too. Lovely people. I just wish I lived a bit closer but worth the early morning drive from York.

Great little butcher with an enticing display of pies. We came in for some pork & chilli pies! It was delicious!!! We ate it before we could take a picture!!

The pork pies are THE best. Just popped in for one this afternoon and it was so good; the pastry was light and with a slight crunch, delicious tasting meat filling and a lovely jelly. A masterpiece the butcher should be proud of. (thinking of moving house a bit nearer!!!)

Fabulous butcher. Great cold cuts, superb sausages, lovely steak and pork pies that are wonderful cold but if you get them warm are perfect. Staff are helpful and cheery. Can not be bettered.

Quite simply incredible if you appreciate pies and savoury pastries. Always call in to stock up on a fishing trip, starting with a breakfast roll. The pork and apple lattice is divine.

The best and the only butcher in Boroughbridge. Great quality products, their pork pies are simply the best. Staff are always incredibly helpful and and very friendly. Good to know that proper traditional butchers exist.

I have to say that Appletons are the best by far for their amazing meats, baked goods and cold cuts. Great value combined with the tastiest products. Amazing customer service too. Highly recommend.

The best of the best. Excellent meats and sublime pies. A real go to with very friendly and helpful staff who know their stuff! Try a breakfast roll it really is truly scrumptious or one of many other meaty pies. Or go for the individual quiches, sausages, bacon..... the list is endless and all good.

The best quiche lorraine in the area. However always make sure what you get is the same as what you ask for. I made a special journey to Boroughbridge and then after asking for quiche lorraine got home to find I had received some kind of inedible vegetarian alternative (from a butchers!!).

Just started using the butchers, as we are new to the area. It certainly is an hidden gem...from the amazing pastries, prepared meals...the cottage pie & lasagna was delicious. To the excellent choices of meats.
