Rather disappointing, to say the least, to see this group regularly blocking autistic professionals from communicating with them. And putting up materials which in my view are designed to frighten parents for no good reason.

Best help and advice I ever got not only for my non verbal son who had Autism but also for myself. Even when my son was excluded from his SN school through no fault of his own and all education removed from him, PEAT helped both of us and over the years Eoin turned into a beautiful, funny young man, who brought so much happiness to those that he met and in turn he taught us so much. Will be always grateful to this group especially when others failed us.

PEAT is a disgusting organisation. They use false facts and deception to force parents to feel guilty if they don’t use them for support, and misguide and deceive people by making sure anything negative about them is hidden while they continue to be motivated only by money.Autistic people are also excluded from all of their training course and events (well they have been up to this point). What does this say about an organisation that is supposed to ‘support autistic people’?PLEASE avoid PEAT at all costs. There are lots of fantastic organisations that truly want what is best for autistic people and will do all they can to ensure they have the best possible lives. PEAT is definitely not one of them.

Amazing charity run by highly qualified autism and behaviour experts offering practical support and training. When my son was first diagnosed I attended several autism support groups all of which left me feeling worse when I left than when I entered. PEAT we’re different. As experts in their field they totally understood our difficulties and offered practical FREE support. They came to my home and sensitively and knowledgably guided me to better help my son learn new skills and minimise problem behaviours. During their FREE play days parents are trained by BCBA qualified trainers in the science of ABA so they can work with their children at home. Their heavily subsidised summer holidays were such fun for the kids and their siblings and offered respite for me as a parent. My son has spoken about his positive experiences at their parent groups, they have delivered FREE social skills training for ASD kids at the school where I work and have also trained the staff. They specialise in ABA and as professional leaders in their field have no need to bring in other speakers with less knowledge and experience than themselves, though do have many expert speakers from around the world at their conferences.I was NEVER made to feel guilty by them and have never heard of any negative experience from any other parents. As a charity they rely on funding in order to deliver their services and depending on this their costs may vary but are always fair for the level of professionalism involved. If you want to use evidence based behavioural interventions with your autistic child I really cannot recommend them enough. If you don’t, then don’t.
