Beautiful part of suffolk to walk and then come to rest, drink and eat here. Can be busy, but worth the short wait. Nice choice snacks and meals, eat in restaurant, bar area or outside. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Public car park near by just off main road, if no parking directly outside. Live locally so not personally stayed, but friends and visiting relatives have and highly recommend rooms and the breakfast.

Beautiful hotel incorporating many original 17th / 18th century features, including the 19th century, working water wheel and a mummified cat to ward off evil spirits.A mill has stood on this site for 1000 years and is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.It is surrounded by acres of stunning common land given to the town by Richard de Clare in 1286, and can be viewed through the panoramic windows that face onto it and a first floor terrace....... incidentally, this Barons Father was one of the Barons who, in 1215 forced King John to sign the Magna Carta !Check it out !!!!

Twice been here. Rooms was nice but everything else it's a disappointment. Poor customer service in general around the bar...Plenty of improvement required...aka staff training a good starting point.Tables in general dirty not clean as often as they should. Nice place to walk the dogs next to it and within walking distance to town.

The Mill's Working Water Wheel
Beautiful old mill converted into a hotel and restaurant. The restaurant itself has a lovely glass enclosure that displays the working wheel and lovely glass panels with panoramic views across the adjacent fields and river. The decor is clean, pleasant and functional. The food arrived quickly, tasted very nice indeed and was very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend if you are in or around Sudbury. Great place to relax and have a bite and a drink.
