I have just finished 10 sessions with Helen for complementary therapy. Helen always makes me relax which is something I struggle with. She is always professional and also offers advice when I need it.Also the Pallative care have been great. Charlotte has always helped me since being diagnosed with cancer back in July. She helped with getting me help get grants and to help getting a hospital bed abs other things. The team here really are amazing

While the staff's dedication and compassion are commendable, it's unfortunate that there are only a few private rooms available at John Eastwood hospice, leading to a less-than-restful environment for end of life patients. The noise from the oxygen machines (as no oxygen is pumped into the building) during our mum's last days was certainly a disturbing aspect.End-of-life care is not just about medical support but also about providing comfort and preserving the patient's dignity. The presence of loud machines and the lack of centralized oxygen can detract from the dignified and comfortable experience that should be provided in a hospice setting.Overall, having centralized oxygen systems in place within a hospice is important to create a peaceful and serene environment for patients in their final moments, helping them to maintain their comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being.

Unfortunately our beloved mum and nana is in John Eastwood hospice. All the staff and volunteers are really wonderful. Of course there is an air of sadness but there is also an overwhelming sense of warmth, welcome and above all - love. Yesterday I had the second most memorable day of my life (the first being the birth of my daughter) with a truly wonderful afternoon tea organised by Sam and the hospice's chef. Anyone is able to pay the truly bucket bargain price of £10. The table was lain with a beautiful lace table cloth, vintage rose tea set, plates of sandwiches, salad, crisps, quiche, jelly for my mum and fruits pots for us and wonderfully yummy fresh cream scones and strawberries!!!! An added bonus is that you can plan the menu with Sam and the hospice's chef beforehand so you can tailor it to your loved ones tastes and needs. We cannot thank all the staff involved enough for all their hard work and amazing efforts.
