Top class experience at Briggate Dental recently. James was a fantastic dentist who gave me some great advice, over the moon with the results of his treatment plan. Big thanks to the rest of the team too. Thanks again, I'll be back soon.

As a long term patient of the practice I have found James, Ruth and the team to offer a first class treatment to their patients. James always gives the best advice and care. He is brilliant with my daughter too. Ruth keeps my teeth feeling nice and clean.

All these positive reviews speak volumes. I've been with Briggate Dental since 1998; it's always been good but now it is just the best practice. James consistently goes above and beyond to help my children and me. Recently, he got my elder son an aligner (a retainer, especially at short notice between Christmas and NY during a pandemic would have been more than enough!). Our son has gone from panicked and paranoid about his teeth becoming crooked again to first euphoric and then relaxed. James speaks to them with humour, reassurance, and a wealth of knowledge. Hygienist Ruth is wonderful too: always calm, gentle, and my teeth feel fantastic after each scale and polish. We really appreciate it, and feel lucky to be registered at Briggate Dental. Can't fault anything.

I joined Briggate Dental at the end of 2022 as I needed a dentist who were experienced with patients who have anxiety as I am having cancer treatment and it damages your teeth. They allowed me to join as a NHS patient which really helped. Since joining everyone is so nice and help me stay calm as well as understanding that I am scared of things near my face. Having been registered with this Briggate Dental for a long time, I see James Cooper and the team regularly and have received such brilliant care and attention there. I have ongoing issues with my teeth and the practice are so accommodating at fitting me in when needed. James goes above and beyond and explains everything which is very reassuring as a nervous patient. Would give them 100 stars if I could!

Had my first ever visit to the practice today. The staff were all really friendly, I was pleased with the check up / clean which the Dentist did for me and I was in/out within less than 30 minutes which was great having a busy schedule myself. Overall great experience, I would highly recommend.

Going to the dentist is fun. I look forward to seeing James and his team at each appointment. They are all super friendly, caring and supportive. It’s a happy relaxed atmosphere, and they are all really accommodating.

Recently had a check up with James and he went over and above what I was expecting. He explained things clearly and took great care of my teeth. The practice was nice and clean and all of the staff were very friendly and professional. Really pleased to have found this amazing place.

To my family’s surprise, we were informed that we had been removed from NHS treatment due to not attending appointments. The problem was that we were completely unaware of these appointments in the first place. It felt like a trap, as the clinic penalised us for missing appointments we had not even made. We understand the significance of adhering to scheduled appointments and the impact that missed appointments can have on the healthcare system. However, in this case, the blame lies with the dental clinic for their lack of clear communication and failure to inform patients about their automated appointment system and the potential consequences of missing appointments. To compound our frustration, when we requested to be reinstated for NHS treatment, we were informed that the clinic was not accepting new patients. It felt like a double blow, as if we were being punished for something beyond our control. It is disheartening to be effectively banned from receiving necessary dental care due to an appointment that we were never even aware of. I am going to raise this with the PHSO.

I have recently changed to this dentist. I have found James Cooper a wonderfulDentist. I explained my fear of dentists. He has treated me with care and kindness. He has explained everything he’s done and why. The fees were made perfectly clear from the start. I felt totally comfortable and pain free throughout the treatments. I have recommended him to my family and friends. They have all had the same high quality service.The reception staff are human, not Rottweilers! They are really approachable and kind. Overall the best dental experience I have ever had from start to finish!!
