The Star Inn & Hotel
Went to the Upton Blues Festival. Really lovely place to stay...Very clean room, with proper stylish dark antiquey dark wooden furniture. Large comfortable bed.. White cotton bedding. Great full English breakfast, with veggie option. Welcomed by locals in the bar. Friendly landlord. Has its own big stage outside in the yard. with on site bar. Great location. Adjacent to the Riverside stage! Highly recommended.

Our 2 night stay at the Star was excellent. Lovely clean room that was warm and cosy. In addition the full english breakfast was amazing. Every item on the plate tasty and hot. Best I've ever had! Along with all this were very friendly, helpful and engagingstaff.We will definitely be back.

Stayed at the Star for 2 nights for my sister in laws 70th birthday and what a great time was had by our group of 10.Daryl was extremely welcoming and went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are really clean and the beds are comfy. Lots of pubs in a close vicinity but the Star is the best. A fantastic and memorable time. Will definitely be back. Loved it x

We visited the star inn frequently over the weekend as it was part of the Upton blues festival. The bar area has many rooms so even though it was busy there was plenty of seating. There was an outside stage and bar and an upstairs stage for when it started (raining which it did).

It's called Star for a reason! Gold star location, gold star room and pub, gold star staff and service! We were totally looked after, made to feel so welcome, there was nothing staff wouldn't do for us. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back :)

Had a roast from their new menu and it was delicious, rare to find a pub doing a proper home cooked Sunday dinner but this was well worth going out for, they had a great choice and the portions were generous, the kids loved it too and we will definitely be back to try their new day menu.Great value with set menu available and desserts were fab too!Service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Glad I only stayed here for one night.The room was freezing as the window was left open before my arrival and the heating was off. After I complained (and it sounded like other had before me) I was told the heating was on, but after I went out for dinner, after 1.5hrs my radiator was only slightly warm to the touch when turned up to max.I would have asked about the heating again, but reception is never staffed so there is no one to ask.The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from the corridor, neighbouring rooms, and the bar downstairs.The bathroom had some hairs on the floor and the carpet didn't look like it had been properly hoovered as there were some leaves just under the base of the bed.Located well at the bottom of the high street and not far from an affordable overnight car park.If I had been staying more than one night here, I would have cancelled and looked for somewhere else.I would suggest looking to stay elsewhere, very disappointed after reading some glowing reviews on Google before booking.
