Deans Marine

I have recently purchased model Robert E Peary,this is the second Deans model that I have acquired the first being HMS Solebay,it was a great model to build,the instructions were concise ,precise and nearly followable.I am dismayed by the model that I have purchased,the instructions cannot be followed many parts are not instructed,the overall quality of the components is poor to the extent that nothing fits together the instruction manual is irrelevant you need to bea clairvoyant to understand it ,I still have the instruction manual for The Solebay, there is no comparison to the information given.This is a very disappointing experience,one that will not be repeated.

Just finished HMS Solebay,end result very very good.Glassfibre hull is superb,cut plastic sheets are excellent.Metal fittings generally good. Replaced resin torpedo tubes,with copper tube.Some other resin fittings needed some work. Instruction sheets possibly a bit vague,main plan drawing good.3rd model from Deans,fact is nobody does what they do better,or in such numbers of kits.Even an average experienced modeler,would have no real problems with the kits I have done,and lets face it what is R/C modelling without a challenge here and there.

Will never buy one of these kits again, fittings are poor quality, plastic printed parts are miles out compared to the actual plans! When expressed concern over the phone was verbally abused by Mr Dean.Poor kits, poor customer service.

Excellent models and fittings, great service.

Just working on a HMS Vanquiser (to convert into a Churruca class destroyer). Packing was perfect. Hull quality superb. Laser cuts and fittings in the kit are good and very complete. Resine ones need some work, but white metal are perfect. Instructions are enough (taking IKEA standards...). Additional fittings are impressive. Communication just strictly correct, but fast and efficient.

Met Ron dean found him to be very knowledgeable and extremely helpful great display of model boats and modelling accessories for the boat modeller would strongly recommend this company for the boat modeller beginners and experienced

I have built several Deans Marine kits during the last few years. The quality of the kits, especially the hull, is very high. The kits contain a lot of fittings to build a very detailed model. The performance on the water is outstanding.Customer service could not be better. Delivery is very fast.Deans have a great variety of kits suitable for beginners as well as for experienced modellers.

Ron is a fount of knowledge and happy to discuss various options with boats and equipment. Great place to visit snd see all thd bosts as well

Would appear to be making illegal charges imho, I.e. 3% surcharge for PayPal on their checkout pages. Reported to trading standards. Very rude and threatening behaviour when called out on extra charges. Wanted £32 to post a hull when competition only charge £15 for a larger item. 5% admin fee" also added at checkout. Avoid at all costs
