I only give a three for the food because on the whole it was good but a couple of the pizzas were either burned or had too much cheese on.The atmosphere was neither here not there as we were tucked up away on the second floor and had no other guests around us, but a lot of staff movement. However, this is a pub that actively supports stag hunting and has multiple stag heads and antlers on display as well as other stuffed animals and images of hunting and driven shoots. This was not at all to our taste. The service would have got less than one if it hadn’t been for the friendly nature of one of the bar staff. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with service. We were a group of twelve and were asked to preorder our food which made a lot of sense. We also had an early sitting (at opening time) which should have enabled the kitchen to focus on us and not be running behind on other orders.Sadly the preordering did not work and the service of our food was chaos. Main meals were served across the space of a whole half hour - the first dishes were cold by the time the last ones arrived. That is not including the third pizza which arrived one hour later than the others. The excuses that were given about this last pizza made a mockery of the fact that the pub has a whole pizza menu and there could easily have been a huge number of them ordered across the lunch time service. Furthermore, the two lamb dishes were served as beef and it was only once they had been started that we were told of this mistake. We will not be returning or recommending The Farmers Arms, Combe Florey.

If I could give 100 stars, I would! Staff made you feel like their most frequent regular, even on our first visit! I wish I lived closer so I could go more. Amazing drinks selection, food to die for and staff that set the world alight with their personalities. Thank you! A fabulous birthday meal with my husband.

Had a fantastic meal here at the weekend. The food was excellent, the service was both enjoyable, courteous and engaging. The atmosphere was lovely, the bar staff and waiting staff very conversational and made a fantastic effort to make all customers in the pub and restaurant feel comfortable. We had the Lamb Kebab and Chicken Sharwarma which was a perfect portion size, flavours were excellent, and presentation was good.Desert was the Run Baba l, which we haven’t had for a long time. You could definitely tell all of the food was freshly prepared and made by the chefs, not bought frozen like some other pubs in the area.Wine choice was excellent as well.Certainly not the cheapest evening, but most deservedly matched the food quality, staff engagement, surroundings and experience.Well worth a night out

Wow what a hidden gem!! We've lived here for 5 years and driven past the sign on the main road I can't count how many times and been meaning to pop in but never seem to have the chance. Finally the other day on the way to another location we decided to stop here for lunch. We were greeted with a charming thatched pub which has a really sheltered but well laid out beer garden, looks like a great place to sit in the summer sun - complete with pizza oven. The interior is cosy and really invitingly done up. My husband was super inpressed with the many beers they had on tap, some really unusual ones too.The food was excellent - we were really impressed with the quality of the produce and high restaurant level skill of the cooking.I had two starters, the artichoke soup and fishy bites. Both were yummy. My husband had the mushroom pasta main, in which the mushrooms were woodlands ones and the pasta appeared to be freshly made. It was really great. Good flavours and cooked well. We also shared a melt in the middle chocolate pudding which was nice and cocoay. Yum!We will defintely be going back and taking our kids there too. Oh and not too forget the barman was super friendly and a lovely guy and on the ball serving us as soon as we came in. Also the serving staff were all friendly polite and quick to serve and the food came out quickly. All in all we applaud you guys at The Farmers Arms, well done you're doing a great job and we'll defintely be back for more!

The most idyllic British cottage pub you ever did see. Cozy, dark fireside vibes inside and country garden outside. We stopped in for pizza and a pint on our way home. The pizza was handmade on site in their own wood fire pizza oven!! Extremely reasonable prices and the pizza was fantastic- super fresh with some unique genius toppings!! Will definitely be coming back.

What a fantastic evening. The bar staff were great with service efficient and polite. The drinks were fabulous and the beer well kept. We were taken to our seats and handed menus and after choosing from the menus the servers took our orders. Food came out at a lovely pace all hot and very tasty. Mains came out equally as good and had a delightful meal. The chef greeted everyone in the restaurant later on into the evening who was also the owner, asking if we enjoyed the food and experience it was a lovely touch. After talking to him about the beers that were on that week, I was even treated to an extra half pint. We all left feeling very happy to have experienced such a lovely place. This is a must place to visit with booking an essential.

My recent Sunday lunch experience at the Farmers Arms was nothing short of extraordinary. The 16th-century building with its charming thatch roof instantly captured my imagination as I stepped inside. The lovely garden provided the perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal, and I was about to discover a culinary delight that matched the historic ambiance. The star of the show was undoubtedly the roast beef, cooked to perfection and accompanied by Yorkshire puddings that were a work of art. The flavors were sublime, and every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and attention to detail. The well-stocked bar offered an impressive array of beers and ales, providing the perfect beverage options to complement the hearty meal. The professional staff ensured that every aspect of our visit was flawless, from their warm welcome to their attentive service throughout the meal. The blend of history and modern comfort created a fabulous atmosphere that elevated the dining experience. The Farmers Arms has mastered the art of preserving tradition while offering a dining experience that is nothing short of exceptional. If you're seeking a Sunday lunch that combines impeccable food, a charming setting, and outstanding service, the Farmers Arms should be at the top of your list.
