Great atmosphere and quick service, however, the food was very bland and lacking flavour.I ordered the Chicken Jalfrezi with Rice but unfortunately didn't hit the spot, although the portion size was very generous.Staff were very friendly and accommodating.Parking is not free due to being situated in the heart of Edinburgh, but we were told the parking charges are the cheapest around compared to other areas in Manchester.

Always come back for the biryani, but the food generally is always super lovely. Extremely good value, and the staff are always very friendly. Perfect for the nearby student population.

The Original Mosque Kitchen is a pretty good place for some lunch in Edinburgh! #HalalThe portions here are great and the prices are less than 10 GBP, making it an affordable option for a satisfying meal. We tried the rice with chicken korma, which was pretty good, and the Monday special of rice with chicken dopiaza, which was also quite enjoyable. Another dish we tried was the rice with lamb bhuna, which was decent. My favorite thing that we had was the naan with chicken shish kabob. While the naan itself wasn't great and tasted like dough, the kabob was absolutely fantastic and stood out as the best item we tried.Overall, The Original Mosque Kitchen is a great spot for affordable, delicious Indian kinda style cuisine. Please note that there are two Mosque Kitchens"

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Original Mosque Kitchen , and let me tell you, it was an experience worth raving about! As a lover of biryani and chickpea dishes, this restaurant exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. However, what truly sets this establishment apart is its commitment to a good cause, as all the profits are dedicated to supporting the local mosque. From the moment I stepped into the cafe, I was greeted with warmth and attentive service. The staff, always sporting genuine smiles, went out of their way to ensure that every guest felt welcome and comfortable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and readily offered recommendations based on personal preferences, making the dining experience all the more personalized. Now, let's talk about the food! The biryani is simply outstanding. Each grain of rice is perfectly cooked and fragrant, layered with tender pieces of meat, and infused with a harmonious blend of spices that excite the taste buds. The flavors were well-balanced, and the use of fresh ingredients was evident in every bite. It was clear that they took great pride in their culinary creations.Equally impressive was the chickpea dish with naan bread- a harmonious blend of mouthwatering flavors and textures. The chickpeas were cooked to perfection, creating a comforting and hearty dish that left me craving for more. It was a true reflection of the skill and passion that the chefs put into their cooking. What makes this dining experience even more gratifying is knowing that every pound spent at goes towards supporting the local mosque. This heartfelt commitment to giving back to the community makes the delicious food taste even better. It's heartwarming to know that your culinary adventure is contributing to a worthy cause. In summary, The mosque kitchen is a hidden gem that combines exquisite flavors, exemplary customer service, and a sense of purpose. Whether you're a fan of biryani, chickpeas, or simply appreciate good food with a good cause, this restaurant won't disappoint. Treat yourself to a flavorful journey while contributing to the betterment of the community; it's an experience that leaves both your taste buds and your heart satisfied.

Really sweet staffs and this is where you could taste the real pizzas. We went with 4 people and the bill was 35, reasonable price with decent dishes! The place is also super convenient for students from Edinburgh university. One of my friend come from Milan and he also appraised the quality. I love the spicy olive oil with garlic inside it. Will definitely comeback again.
