Westminster Abbey
What a wonderful experience. The Abbey is steeped in history. There is so much to see. The architecture is truly unique and the interior of the church is magnificent... stained class windows, towering ceilings and ornate tombs. Self-guided audio tours are available. There was a queue to see the different tombs but other than that, the crowd was fairly manageable. Definitely one of the must-see attractions in London. I used a London Pass to get in so I didn't have to queue for tickets.

I've been to dozens of historical churches, and so the price point for this one felt a bit high and I was unsure what to expect. But I do think it is worth the money! Plan to spend about an hour with a guided audio tour, and if you know anything about English history you'll hear a lot of names you'll recognize - from coronations to burials, and more. It can get very busy, so I'd aim for early morning to minimize crowds.

The Abbey is unreal!Beautiful and well-preserved architecture.Adults pay £27 to enter and you can have a self-guided tour using headphones and a guide tablet. It's worth the time and a must see.Weekends there tend to be long lines on the outside to enter.

Beautiful and stunning architecture. A must see for anyone visiting London. Unfortunately, I was not able to go inside the church on my last visit, but I absolutely plan to go next time!

Westminster Abbey
This HAD to be my first stop. To see Queen Elizabeth I. The reason for this whole trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I wanted to start at Queen Elizabeth's tomb and a staff member took me right there. I suggest getting a membership. Not only is it a wonderful way to contribute to the church but it also gets you right in the door. No waiting in line and boy was there a line. If you go twice you have paid for your membership. I saw it as a donation. When I ever go back to London I will go here again, so much history. I could never express what it felt like to walk in the footsteps of so much, SO MUCH history. I felt very privileged and humbled to just be in that space.

Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey is a magnificent architectural marvel steeped in 700+ years of history. The Gothic masterpiece, with its intricate detailing and soaring spires, serves as a symbolic center of British monarchy and religious ceremonies. The interior is adorned with stunning stained glass, impressive chapels, and the Poets' Corner honoring literary greats. Navigating through the hallowed halls feels like a journey through time, with notable tombs and memorials paying homage to iconic figures. A visit to Westminster Abbey is an immersive experience, offering a profound glimpse into the cultural and historical tapestry of the United Kingdom. The stroll through the nave of Westminster Abbey is a captivating journey where every step is laden with historical significance. Walking on the tombstones of luminaries such as Stephen Hawking, Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens, Churchill, and Sir Isaac Newton adds a unique and thought-provoking dimension to the visit.

Westminster Abbey
Amazing experience! Got to see the House of Commons, House of Lords etc. Photography isn’t allowed in most places inside, so do be aware of that. I recommend booking tour tickets in advance. Getting a tour guide is tough (fully booked till 2025!) but the audio tour is as good. No wait on a weekend, just need time for security checks

Westminster Abbey
A bit different from most people BUT I didn’t come by for the traditional tour (and hence why there are no interior pictures). After hearing that Westminster has been a place of worship for over 1000yrs, I could not but look towards attending one of their services here. I unfortunately couldn’t make the communion service (would do so next time!) but got to enjoy one of their recital. No singing from the audience in this one and felt more like a classical concert than a hymn service (which was what I was expecting) but still a lovely experience! The architecture is incredible, especially in the interior or the church. I kept imagining how many men and hours it took to achieve such impeccable symmetry. The organ and might I add, the assistant organist at the time, are equally impressive too. I only wish I could attend some of their other different services and the traditional tour to get a varied feel of all that it has to offer.

This stop was part of a tour. I expect if you're interested in all things British from coronation to historic royals. Several tombs and plaques of science and literature figures. Architecture is beautiful.
