Damian Riley Dog Training

One session with Beccy & the mindset shift was huge. We're implementing all the training she suggested & just 3 days later, our 11 month old whippet is walking to heel and calm in his crate during the day. Looking forward to our next session!

We’ve been working with Becky at Damian Riley for 6 weeks, 3 sessions in total and it has been so helpful to have the support and encouragement that we needed to get our 2 dogs on track. Becky had given us advice regarding their diet, keeping them calm in the home, how best to heel train and recall train and it has worked wonders for us. There have been times that we have wanted to give up as it is hard work, but the regular support and sessions has given us the motivation to continue. Becky has been able to give us advice on our progress to help us improve further and we are so grateful for her! One thing with dog training is that you can’t expect results overnight, and getting the support from a trainer like Becky is only going to be effective if you are putting the work in outside of the 1-1 training session, and it really makes all of the difference in doing so and the changes are huge. We can’t wait to have further training with Becky/Damian Riley in the near future as it is an ongoing process and you can never have too much support! Thank youJake and Lauren :)

The one to one training sessions and group training sessions have been amazing. Instead of just teaching my dog how to behave for the trainer, I've been taught how to train my dog if that makes sense so I am getting as much out of the sessions as my dog. The team at DR really know their stuff. My only regret is that I waiting till my dog wad 4 months old before hearing about Damien Riley. Highly recommend.

I have a very nervous dog and I really was at a loss for how to help him. I am so glad I found Damian. All I’ve had in the past is snippets of vague, unclear advice. None of it has worked for our Beau. After one session, I found it easier to understand my dogs behavior and how to help him get past his fear of basically everything in the world. Most dog and animal people are total weirdos, but Damian is completely as much of a people person as he is a dog person and I am honestly so glad we found him, and were able to get a session. Thanks Damian and Andrea!

After introducing a young cockapoo into the house we started to see signs of tension, resource guarding and fights breaking out between him and our 18 month old cocker spaniel. We contacted Damian who suggested a half day consultation.Damian came to us 4 weeks ago and observed their behaviour and wrote up a full training plan. Since then we have started to see improvements in both dogs individually and both have better control, heel and stay/leave. This is helping alleviate the tension and we are gradually building up more time together between the dogs. Would highly recommend Damian Riley Dog Training for behavioural issues and we’re hoping to get the dogs back together by continuing on the training plan

Beginners course reviewWe’ve had dogs in our lives for over 30 years of many different shapes, sizes, temperaments and breeds, always from rescue centres. We have successfully trained them in the basic skills including acceptable recall but we quickly realised that Harry (springer x collie) had a very high prey drive and was going to be more of a challenge. Our main problem was with recall.We spoke to a few different trainers but they were only suggesting techniques we had used previously. When we contacted Damian and explained what we needed, he understood what our problem was and offered some 1-1 sessions but suggested the beginners course would probably suit us better.In the 1st week of the 6 week beginners training course, Becky listened to what we said and advised us that we'd not really had Harry long enough to develop a relationship with him and we needed to give it a bit of time to do that and good recall would follow if we were firm and consistent. Becky understood what we wanted to get from the course and tailored our training to suit us. We were able to update Becky with our progress, via whatsapp, between sessions and she gave us tips to improve what we were doing, so we were able to make good progress each week. Each member of the class had different needs and their individual needs were addressed during the sessions. Becky’s teaching was very clear and she was able to demonstrate the behaviour we were aiming for with her own dogs and also with Harry. We also had a very good session with Liv.We've used the training activities she gave us to develop that relationship and keep him interested when we're out and now I think he realises that being WITH us when we're out is more fun than ballooning about on his own. Today, for the 1st time, we walked off lead for our whole walk without worrying that he'd disappear into the distance. We know we'll still have slip ups if we try to progress too fast but now we're confident that he will eventually be able to be off lead most of the time as we want him to be.Whether you have a puppy or an older dog, I would recommend discussing your training needs with Damian or Becky as I feel sure that they will be able to help you achieve your specific goals with your dog.

I have been meaning to do a review for ages but as I’m sure lots of people know life can get pretty busy! I first got in contact with Damian around a year ago, due to multiple disabilities I was looking for an assistance dog from day one Damian and his team were amazing! They supported me through the whole process from finding the breed that would work best for me and then the specific dog that I bonded and has the best connection with. Both Damian and Becky kept me informed with pupdated and lots of videos, it was so amazing to watch her progress! Damian and his team went above and beyond to help us be able to fund her and we will honestly be forever thankful, when the time came for my girl to come home Damian did a wonderful handover, he and his team supported us throughout the transition even when my little mrs started to push some boundaries. I am delighted to say Iris is now a phenomenal assistant dog and has honestly changed my life she is so special and I can’t imagine life without her (we recently had a trip to busy London and she was perfectly behaved though out). None of this would have been possible without the whole team! Thank you so much guys you’re all amazing!!!

I went to Damian with my troublesome 2 year old Goldador as I had a few issues with him. I spent the entire day with Damian and we went through practical exercises to improve the behaviour. Within the day, I could already see improvements.Just a week on and I am so much more confident handling and training my dog. I have been given a clear plan to follow and can't wait to show Damian the progress we will have made in our follow up session next month.

I can't believe the difference in such a short time with only minor changes.We rescued Edi in May. He was an adorable but excitable bundle of energy with an ear piercing bark. With working from home he had worked out when I was ending calls and became extremely demanding.After a visit from Becky, who pointed out that he had me wrapped around his little finger, we reset some boundaries. The transformation was amazing. He is calm in the house, it is now easy to stop him barking and he is a joy to have around.It is amazing what small changes can do.
