My family organised a surprise party for me here in May. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was lovely and most importantly they did not impose loads of restrictions just let us all get on with having a good time. Thankyou to all xx

Nice oldy worldy pub. Good selection of beers reasonably priced. Lovely staff. Went on game day so the customer base was loud which was to be expected but the atmosphere remained fun and upbeat. Would definitely return.

Just had a veggie burger and chips it was out of this world, the price was good, the food was amazing, the staff couldnt do enough for you, wwill be returning.

Just had the Valentines meal which was very good, excellent service which couldn't be faulted. Would certainly recommend this friendly, welcoming venue.

We attended a retirement party for a colleague of ours. We had all pre-ordered food. We paid £45 for two courses. Initially, we were served a tiny portion of soup, we initially thought it was tomato, but on tasting it, it was (i think) a very over seasoned red pepper & overpowering chilli. It was served with bread and very cheap margerine, we really didn't enjoy it.Next, we were served steak & chips. Some of us had peas, some of us didn't 3 of us got onion rings, one of us didn't (i wasn't bothered because they were deep fried into oblivion - hard and crunchy)There was a tiny little side salad, which we were charged £3 for & a tiny little portion of mushrooms.The steak was okay, but quite fatty. The service was really bad with over an hour and a half between the first of us being served our main course and the last.We were sat at two seperate tables, so half our party had their backs to each other, a square shaped table with everybody facing each other would have been much better.We won't be eating there again, I'm afraid. If the landlord took on to much, he should have informed us & cancelled, or at least given us a discount on the night for the poor food and poor service.We had to eat when we got home as we were hungry.The poor girl running up & downstairs all night was the star of the show, an absolute credit who looked after us all!

We had a birthday party for my mums 75th and nothing was too much trouble at all and the Room is lovely. Steve and his staff were amazing. Food was magnificent. Highly recommend. We will hold all our parties here in future. We can’t thank you enough we had an amazing time.

I went to a party upstairs. It is a nice venue with warm staff, down to earth good old courtesy. The buffet was excellent. There is street parking nearby.

I had beef chilli (served in a bowl) and homemade chips at lunchtime as part of a range of pub meals for £5 each. The chilli is outstanding with quality beef mince and is a generous portion size. It is also a tad spicy which is the way I like it. The chips are delicious, homemade and fresh. The meal is great value and I had half a peroni too at the reasonable price of £2.25. The publican cares about quality and value in food & drink. I wish him every success. Grab these £5 meals while they're available!!!!!
