Bournemouth University, Talbot Campus

Bournemouth University is an innovative and vibrant public university located in Bournemouth, Dorset, a coastal town famous for its seven-mile stretch of sandy beaches. The town of Bournemouth has a population of roughly 500,000 and is a thriving hub for several industries including the creative, financial, and tourism sectors. Bournemouth University boasts a strong student community with over 19,000 students and more than 2,600 international students. Bournemouth University offers students many innovative and industry-focused programs, with particular strengths in media and communication and technology. Students will benefit from close ties to industry and many of BU's programs offer industry accreditation or placements with over 1,500 industry partners.Talbot Campus is the main campus for Bournemouth University and hosts the main University buildings including the student union and the main library. It has had many recent updates (2017-2018) and is a self-contained campus located on the boundary of Bournemouth and Poole.

Lovely buildings, great facilities, very help and supportive staff.

I just love BU. As an international student I received all the support that was required. The provide all the letters in time and the emails are replied to in a couple of days time. The lectures are always taken by a proper lecturer or professor who has intense knowledge of the subject (in my previous university PHD students were taking lectures). The campus is clean, spacious and the building and facilities are modern.

The campus is huge and has many different buildings, each of them has different purpose. Also most of them will have a canteen/coffee places inside.

Nice variety of architecture. Done a lot of psychology studies with the uni and they also have a brilliant art gallery and coffee places.

I’ve never been to the arts University in Bournemouth but I would rate it five stars it looks good.

A vocational university that has grown in stature quickly. I'd employ graduates from here and from the Arts University next door.

I visited the Archives and Special Collections at the library to consult the files of the International Public Relations Association, which preserves papers, newsletters, books and photographs from 1953 to the early 2000s. It was of great value for my doctoral research. I am immensely grateful for the efforts in acquiring, classifying, and conserving the IPRA archive. Throughout my doctoral research, I discovered that reliable sources for studying Public Relations from the perspective of Sciences and Technology Studies are scarce. In this regard, BU plays a vital role. I sincerely appreciated the exceptional conditions and timely assistance that allowed me to consult the materials. It made my research journey a truly pleasant experience.The staff is really helpful and always have hidden treasures to share. Also, there is a special charm in looking at actual books and old magazines. Just go and ask!I also took the opportunity to go with my cousin to an open day and was very interesting to discover the whole campus and surrounding areas. It has modern buildings, well equipped areas, and very lively with different student's clubs.

Great, open campus. Friendly, helpful staff. Well signposted so it is easy to navigate. The chicken wraps in the Fusion Building were a winner!
