A brand new facility with a great location right in Bury centre, behind The Rock shopping centre. Very easy to get to with free parking after 6pm, 90% of the classes are after 6pm also which is perfect! The head coach Sam is a professional athlete, who’s classes are tailored for complete beginners as well as seasoned pros. If you’ve never tried combat sports before but would like to, or have experience already and want to develop further then this is the place to be. Sam's method of coaching is clear, constructive and informative as he takes you through the mechanics of each drill. Amazing gym to train at for beginners all the way up to elites. Sam is one of the best fighters and coaches the north has produced, you’d be silly to go anywhere else!

Every session I've been to has been massively valuable; wether it's to improve fitness, learn/ tighten techniques or for fun, this place is the full package and I always come away feeling great. Sam is a welcoming, experienced and patient instructor who's cultivated a supportive environment in his gym. The gym itself is modern and clean. Really couldn't ask for more.

Attended a boxing session here, instruction was quality and Sam's attention to detail is second to none. Sam is also brown belt with a solid bjj lineage, who has competed in Jiu jitsu to a high level, and his mma background speaks for it self. Sam personally is friendly and welcoming, i have been to a couple MMA facilities and this place is well kept and clean and has everything you need.

Fantastic club with excellent facilities including showers , weights and a variety of bags and mat spaces. Sam is an all-round coachhighly proficient in all aspect of martial arts and his set up is catered for beginners as well as experienced- practicioners. Highly recommend !!

I have trained at a few different places that are similar to what Smooth offer and Smooth Combat Academy is the best by far. There is a great atmosphere inside the gym and smooth provide a positive and inclusive place to train, catering to all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Sam, the owner and coach makes time for everyone at the gym and goes the extra mile to help. His knowledge and expertise in combat sports is second to none.
