This review is of the car park, not the location.Car park itself well maintained and bays fine.Parking machines on the other hand a complete nightmare! I notice a few other reviews saying the same thing, but going back 6 months or so, so why hasn’t it been addressed??The contactless gizmo on one machine is taped off, and is completely missing on the other!!So the only option left is cash, specifically coinage - should you happen to have any in this day and age!And then you discover that the interface is one of the worst you’ve ever seen and the keys on the keypads so bashed and unresponsive that lesser able people run the risk of not having the actual strength to be able to press them!This will make us think again about returning should we consider doing so, which is something of a shame, don’t you think?

Easy find via Google maps, plenty of space, paid with app... Ideally located for talkin tarn country park itself..

Pretty if windy. Predatory parking ticket trap. Machines don't work neither does text. Lots and lots of dogs so not much free running..... best avoid.

The carpark is clean and safe. You can pay by cash or by card. It's not cheap but the council do maintain the tarn so it's to be expected. Reasonable would be my assessment.

Great sarnies icecream and cakes oh boy straight to the hips!! Great wee play area for the bairns too sandy and safe often up here and spend most of the day only £2-30for all day parking Excellent lovely walk round the tarn too just love it and gift shop who could ask for more!

Visited this morning for park run had a Bacon and sausage bap and a coffee after the ice cream looked very tempting

lovely place , on site Cafe and wc that are both really clean, fabulous scenery and great for walking

I totally agree with Florence Deputron, we had to give up trying to pay and drive back out of the car park as the parking meter just wouldn't work for me. It was impossible to choose the tariff I wanted to pay and it wouldn't take my payment until I did this. I also tried to pay with my phone app but it just said there was no car park nearby! A wasted day out and we travelled 60 miles to go there.
