I used the train to commute from Barnsley to Sheffield in the short time I worked in the centre.I had no problem with any of the trains, and if there was communication from the driver or the tannoys and there are plenty of signs with the platforms and destinations Barnsley has two plant forms - Leeds and Sheffield being the two biggest and nearest.Attached is also the covered and sheltered Bus Station with seating included in local departures you can also get a coach to London or and Leeds and other destinations Sheffield, Doncaster , Rotherham. The information desk is open most of the time and has very helpful staff to help you if you don’t know which bus you need.

Not a very safe sign to say pedestrians can't walk this way...

The time is 16:56I am writing this review from a train I have caught from Barnsley interchange. The establishment itself is very nice. although I would however prefer a greggs to a cooplands so please sort this. The escalators move too fast and almost crippled me as I stood upon them. Also the train plod have extremely dirty high visibility vests and not in the good way.Kind regardsC to the P

Fairly nice looking station. Usually nice staff though once or twice I have seen rudeness.2 ticket machines I've seen always be working aside from one time where one of them broke down and was repaired within a couple of days.3 vending machines a bit on the pricey side but you can expect that as you're paying for the convivence of having it right at the station. There is a Greggs, Poundland, pound bakery, a couple of coffee shops and if the market is open, that, just down the road when you leave the interchange and on the left if you want to get something cheaper at the time of writing.

The trains are almost always on time however not a reliable station. I work long hours and use the trains late evenings. One time the station was barricaded for no reason almost making me miss my last train, I had to run like crazy. The other day, the station was completely shut because of an incident which is understandable but the guys dealing with enquiries were very unhelpful. They gave different information, told me to wait for a bus and then told another guy (going to the same destination) to go around the station to catch a train, while I was stood there and they knew I was going to the same place but didn't bother to update me.WORST CUSTOMER SER|VICE.
