Ended up pay an arm and leg at this place, everything was overpriced, and they really did terribly at communicating what the final cost would eventually be. I came in for a stuck glowplug in my van which they assured me they would be able to get out, the cost spiraled once they couldnt get the glowplug out so had to take the head off and quoted me 1,500, i agreed. They carried out the work but the price soon increased to around 2,100. That was with me refusing other work to be done on the van, as at the time they hadnt specified the total cost, my answer was how can i agree to more work if i dont know what it costs?" It was all too vauge it felt like they pretended to care about keeping the costs down

Really knows his stuff. Very friendly and helpful and takes time to explain things to you. I would highly recommend.

The guys at Staverton Diesel Services are the absolute best, Andy is my car hero! They were recommended to me by good people within the automotive industry a few years ago and I wouldn’t go anywhere else - I travel across the whole county to get there. They are friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Everything you want and more! They’ve saved me/my jinxed(!) Renault diesel car(s) more than once. The first time I had a fluctuating issue with the electrics in a Renault and 4 different RAC men gave me 4 different diagnostics - the very unhelpful people at the French Car specialists wanted £300 to look at the car before they’d even start work, but I was eventually towed to SDS on recommendation from a battery specialist and Andy knew exactly what it was and fixed it with like a £20 part. Another time it would have been a new gearbox in my very old Renault but they fixed it at minimal cost which gave me time to find a new car at leisure and not in a panic. A huge difference in price and service! I know nothing about cars/diesels so I’m potentially a very easy target to be fleeced at a garage - but knowing I can trust these guys is a great relief, they’ve always done everything to help me stay on the road at the lowest cost. My husband who does understand mechanical engineering (but doesn’t specialise in cars and is never around when my car goes wrong!) also trusts them and has been impressed by what they’ve done too. Yes they’re VERY busy but that’s because everyone who uses them won’t go anywhere else afterwards, which probably tells you all you need to know. Totally recommend.

They have never let me down and always go the extra mile to make sure that all my vehicles comply with the stringent council requirements.It is not an overstatement to say that without them, my business would never have got off the ground.Keep up the great work guys!

Really bad experience, an absolute RIP OFF. The only reason I have one star and not none is because the two mechanics were very friendly and they seemed to be experienced.I’ve taken a Renault Mégane 1.5 dci showing a “check anti pollution system” fault on the dash. I called on Monday and they asked me to leave the car on Wednesday due to high workload which is fair. Left the car and called after lunch time and they said that after plugging diagnostics it looks like the exhaust pressure sensor might need replacement with a cost of £130 (approx) but they wanted to check the dpf pressure pipes as they are a common fault.Called on Thursday before lunch time and they said that they didn’t have time to put it on the ramp and they would do after lunch time. Called again when I finished work and they said that the car is ready and the problem was that one of the dpf pressure pipes was raptured and they replaced it with a cost of approx £40.At no point in all the above discussions they mentioned the overall cost of the repair. When I arrived there, the bill was £300!!! With £260 of labour!!!Of course I tried to challenge the cost, and the response was that it was very difficult to identify the raptured pipe and also very difficult to replace it, which had as a result 4 hours of labour.Just to check the difficulty of the replacement I contacted the local Renault dealership and asked for a quote to replace the dpf pressure pipe. Their response was £39 for the part and approx 1 hour of labour!The garage seems that it deals mainly with vans which provides continuous business, however my situation was only was only an one off, therefore they clearly overpriced their service!

After my regular garage failed to find fault on my Skoda every time I took it in, I brought it here for a DPF assessment. They quickly found all sorts of problems which rendered it beyond economical repair, giving me the opportunity to go back to my first love: Subaru. The staff were helpful and informative and should have come here long ago.Ps. this garage came up during a search for DPF Doctor""

Specialists who also do work for other garages, so I guess they must be good

These guys are very very good at what they do.Undercut another quote for turbo replacement by a third and delivered in less time than they first said. Really good honest garage with great service. Highly recommended

Had lots of different jobs done on my car and always quick tidy job and no what there doing.
