The Post Barn

A beautiful purpose built barn with oodles of light. I love decorating this venue because from every angle the flowers just pop. A great balcony area too in case the great British weather is against us- meaning you never are too far away from your guests. Equally stunning grounds to enjoy too- great team where nothing is too much bother- can’t wait to decorate with flowers again.

We got married at The Post Barn on 15.05.22.Wow what an incredible venue and amazing team. The venue is super modern, stylish and full of light. If you are looking for a barn with a unique twist this is the place for you. It is situated on the grounds of The Donnington Hotel and Spa which allows guests to stay over, play golf, use the spa or just continuo the celebrations. An extra special thank you to Katie who was our first point of call and there through every step of the planning. She is beyond organised and made sure everything went to plan on our big day. Food is so important to us and head chief Darren didn’t disappoint. Such a genuine guy and his passion shines through everything he creates. We had the pleasure of using Karen at Allium Design (On preferred supplier list) she is an unbelievable florist and wonderful lady, she will bring your vision to life. Thank you all, we wish we could do it all over again.

Not quite sure where to begin with this review because there are not enough words for us to sum up how amazing The Post and all the staff are… we could not be any more full of beans if we tried!The moment my now husband and I stepped into the venue, we knew it was “The One.” It is a simply beautiful venue, where contemporary meets classic, and we knew instantly that it was the place we wanted to celebrate our love. The space says so much without needing to add too much frippery; it is elegant and classy and can quite easily be transformed into anything the couple would like. So many of our guests commented on how fantastic a venue it was.However, despite the beautiful building and surroundings, it is the staff that we absolutely fell in love with. From the very first moment that we inconspicuously knocked on the door without an appointment and were warmly greeted inside by Katie, to the menu tasting, the planning meeting and all of the communication in between, they were simply incredible. Daisy and Kate meeting us upon our arrival from the church on our wedding day was simply wonderful - we felt that they were living it with us and that our day was the only wedding to have ever happened at The Post, which is exactly how you want to feel on the best day of your life. Everybody that worked on the day of our wedding and everyone that helped us along the way cannot be faulted and it genuinely felt like we were leaving having made friends with them all. Even writing this makes us emotional when I think of how invested they were and how they executed our vision for the day expertly. They even found a very important and sentimental handkerchief that had been misplaced in the furore of the day (there was quite the panic when we realised this was missing) My husband was so emotional when he was reunited with it a week later, all thanks to the staffs’ meticulous professionalism and attention to detail. When they handed it over to us, Daisy said “We’ve got your back”, and this is exactly how it was throughout our entire wedding journey.The food was incredible - so many guests commented on this, along with how beautiful the venue is and how amazing the staff were. The sun shone gloriously for us and we were able to make the most of the immaculate grounds and beautiful fairy lights. We could go on and on… it was just magical from start to finish.Thank you, The Post, for everything - these words do not do our feelings justice and we will forever hold The Post and you all in our hearts. It was simply the greatest day of our lives and it ran so smoothly all thanks to your expertise, care and genuine love for the couples that you support.We can’t wait to gate crash a wedding just so we can see you all.Natalie & Luke xxx

We had our wedding here recently and it was simply amazing! From the very moment of booking we were so impressed by their great communication, willingness to listen to our ideas and work with us and made good suggestions to help us with the process. Every member of staff is so helpful, friendly and great at what they do and the food was amazing! We were so pleased we booked here and would happily recommend the venue to everyone.

Myself and my wife are so delighted that we chose The Post Barn as the venue for our wedding.The Post Barn is set near the Golf Clubhouse within in the larger grounds of the Donnington Valley Hotel & Spa. We loved the look of the place, it has been designed in a way that makes it have the feel of a traditional old barn yet so modern. We absolutely loved it, we could picture ourselves, our friends and family there.However what really sold the venue to us was Katie herself. Her down to earth manner and attention to detail made us both feel immediately at ease, we both left after the first meeting believing we could trust her with such an important occasion.We didn’t hesitate to book this venue. As the venue was still in its infancy over the period from booking the venue to our wedding day more ideas had developed through experience of the venue hosting other events. We were constantly informed of new details, this was a bonus for us as we got nearer to our date we had more choice of items to hire, as well as extended food offerings for canapés and evening food.The communication between us and the post barn was brilliant.Day Before the wedding. My fiancée had been super precise with details and getting everything ready. Individual boxes with items to be placed on each table, welcome signs, photos of family members no longer with us, literally everything you can imagine and more. The venue is very well organised and has a place to store everything, so the day before we turned up at the agreed time to bring everything needed for the wedding day. Katie again had a final checklist to confirm everything. After seeing my fiancée create and design so much it felt weird to then leave everything in the hands of someone else.The Wedding Day, As we had booked so far in advance the Bridal Suite at the Donnington Valley Hotel, was booked for my fiancée the night before the wedding and for us the night of the wedding.At the Post Barn there is a dressing room for the Bridal Party, where they have breakfast brought over and can have an enjoyable morning getting ready.I then used the Bridal suite the morning of the wedding for myself and my groomsmen. This was the best decision we made as having that extra space meant we could get ready together. The executive rooms are nice at the hotel but for a larger group the bridal suite worked out much better.Katie, Caitlin, Holly and the rest of team had ensured the wedding venue was set up exactly how we imagined our ceremony to be, it looked stunning. All of our guests were wowed! The day flew by and we didn’t worry about a thing. All the young staff on the day were incredibly polite and attentive. We were too busy having photos but there seemed to be plenty of canapés as well as Prosecco flowing.After the Ceremony, the room was set up to seat 125 guests. Considering the number the room still felt spacious. The food was brought out table by table with each member of staff presenting the dishes on to the table at the same time. However for the few young ones we had there on the day their food arrived first, a nice touch. Everyone complimented to how amazing the food was.After the meals and speeches we were encouraged to make our way back to the Bar area whilst the main room was turned around again ready for the evenings events. At this time the evening guests started to arrive. As well as the bar area and terrace, there is also an area upstairs above the bar for people to go a sit when busy.With all the party lights and up lights, the room looked totally different yet again! We now had a huge area ready to dance the night away.Evening food was a mixture of pizza’s, wedges, bacon rolls and sausage rolls. We were worried we wouldn’t have enough food. However we had far too much. So keep that in mind when deciding how much to order.The whole day was better than we imagined. We’ve have had so many compliments since.We are delighted we picked The Post Barn. Katie and the Team are a credit to their company. Do not hesitate to book your wedding, event there.

We had the most incredible experience at The Post Barn for our October wedding, earning it a well-deserved 5 stars from us both and our guests. From the initial venue viewing to collecting our belongings the day after our wedding, the staff's thoroughness and approachability were exceptional. We never once felt rushed in decision-making, questions were promptly addressed and even the day after, we weren't rushed out of the door.Katie was an absolute gem. She made our menu tasting and initial meetings seamless, always valuing our ideas and turning them into reality. Even when Katie wasn't available, Caitlin ensured a smooth transition and promptly addressed our queries. When Kate took over around 6 weeks before the big day, confidence in a smoothly-run wedding was unwavering. She knew exactly what to do, when to do it, how to approach any unknowns and uncertainties and I, as the perfectionist bride, felt completely at ease leaving my two years of wedding planning and DIY decor in her hands.Izzie and Daisy were equally impressive, going above and beyond during the ceremony and throughout the evening. Their meticulous setup allowed us to focus solely on our vows and speaking to our guests, enjoying the day without worries. The room transitions were flawlessly executed, and the overall organisation was unmatched.I have to say, that The Post Barn just went the extra distance on our wedding day in so many ways. Our videographer managed to capture beautiful moments that we couldn't have imagined, including the staff's thoughtful assistance throughout the day: from helping my son with his buttonhole to carrying my dress, which just made it feel like we had extra friends there, adding a special touch to our day. We absolutely cannot fault them or thank them enough.Furthermore, our guests had nothing but praise for The Post Barn, raving about the delicious food and the stunning venue and grounds. Even over a month later, the positive feedback continues. We extend our gratitude to the entire team, including those behind the scenes—the chefs, serving staff, and bar staff. Attended a wedding on Saturday 10th it is the perfect venue, we were also fortunate to have glorious weather. Everything about this place was magical, the main room, the gardens. Food was good staff were excellent

We got married here and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Beautiful location, beautiful inside area and garden area, plenty of parking, and beautiful views. It was our dream venue and Iwe both loved it. Katie has been amazing throughout, always very quick and helpful in answering any queries.

We booked the post barn for our wedding in August 2022 and I cannot recommend it enough.The barn is beautiful, modern but with loads of character. The gardens are stunning and so many options for places for the guests to mingle.We used the bridal room in Snelsmore house to get ready which was stunning, well equipped and huge and so close to the venue. We were also given access to the oak room in Snelsmore house for our first look which was perfect, very private and perfect backdrop and lighting for the pictures. The eating area for the evening pizza was great for the late night munchies and the rest of the grounds were stunning for pictures. It's also right next to a hotel and spa which meant we were able to turn our wedding day into a wedding weekend with family dinners and spa days before and after the wedding at the hotel.The food was spot on as well but the real reason we loved this venue was because of the staff. Every single person on the day was beyond brilliant, every single server, bar man, planner, management couldn't do enough for us. All our guests told us afterwards how amazing the staff had been and I truly didn't realise how important that would be until after the wedding and we realised the day went so smoothly because of them.I honestly can't praise them all enough, our day wouldn't have been anywhere near as amazing as it was without them, and for that I will be forever grateful to Katie and the whole team at The Post Barn.
