Richmond Medical Centre

This practice might just be the most ill-equipped & badly run medical centre in Sheffield. If by any chance you get hold of them, which is rare, the best you’ll get is a telephonic appointment. Which leaves doctors guessing at what’s wrong with you, hence the amount of times people keep coming back because they weren’t treated properly in the first place. It’s sad, you don’t expect much from them, but everytime you do have to interact with them, it gets worse.

Moved here from another gp within the same postcode. Used richmond twice for myself and once for my child since moving and have been impressed each time. Efficient, friendly and I feel like a good quality of patient care glad I moved

A close family member is registered with this surgery. My elderly and frail relative has been afraid to go out over the past 18 months due to the Covid pandemic. This doctors surgery would not accept a telephone call to order repeat prescriptions and insisted that my relative had to go to the surgery and post the request for repeat prescription in their post box. My elderly relative does not have access to the internet so cannot order on line and they do not drive. I can not get my breath even after I tried to reason with the practice manager she would not budge. IT IS APPALING UPHOLDING THIS DISCRIMINATORY BLANKET POLICY IN THIS CLIMATE.

You can never get an appointment here the phones lines are ment to open at 8-0 …. lol what a joke , you just received to engaged tone til 8-30 so no way do the phone lines or reception open until thenAbsolute joke of a doctors . No duty of care . You try phoning for an appointment from 8-00 nothing then about 8-30 to 9-00 you get out in a queue to then finally get through to a receptionist after an hour of trying , to then be told there are no appointments…. If this was not so serious it would be laughable….. oh and then they wonder why people go to A&E

Had fantastic service. Appointment on same day as I rang. Doctor was friendly and very thorough. Got the tests that I needed the following day.

Can’t get an appointment anymore. Even phoning has become a joke since it’s next to impossible to speak to a receptionist. Maybe others have better luck but I’ve given up trying now.

Amazing practice from reception to medical staff. Caring and responsive.

I called the surgery on Monday afternoon the 22/11/21 to get an appointment for my son who was struggling with what turned out to be a chest infection. Granted it took a few attempts to get through to the surgery but they were clearly very busy, when i did get through the lady on reception was very helpful and really empathetic to my sons situation.Within the hour a doctor called my son back and arranged to see him soon after where he was prescribed antibiotics. Having read some of the negative reviews i felt the need to give a positive one and say thank you to the surgery for the excellent service we received on that day.

Every time you ring up for an appointment, you’re told you have to go on the call back list, even after explaining the issue, and even if it’s something that obviously needs to be seen by a doctor/nurse in person. This seems like a waste of a phone appointment, and could actually go to someone who would benefit from it. Consistently told by receptionists that they’re really busy, and that there is always a doctor off sick, hence the wait times. Consistently running late, consistently told to contact the surgery before 9am if a same day appointment is required, but can’t ever actually get through to speak to anyone. The whole place needs completely rethinking.

I’d give 0* if I could! This doctors is an absolute shambles!! The receptionist are nothing but RUDE. You still can’t get a face to face appointment you get put on the call back list??? Why? Aren’t we ‘living’ with covid these days!! Why can we do EVERYTHING as normal except get to see a doctor?! When you do finally see a doctor you get fobbed off with ‘its viral’ to then have to go back time and time again before they will actually issue some medication that is eventually needed (shock!!!!) and we are wondering why kids are dying?! Because we can’t get our kids in the doctors and when we do it’s not dealt with!! Not to mention it can take you 100/200 attempts to get through! It took me so long last week I actually walked there, stood in reception with NO phone ringing and the reception staff talking about Christmas plans!!!!
