Stayed here for one night with family. The location is great (within town center) with ample connectivity to places in colchester. Room was spacious with big bathroom and well maintained. Check-in process was late & pain and the ladies at reception desk were not welcoming. Previous customer had a late check-out and surprisingly reception did not know how long it would take to provide me with the room. Definitely need some training in hospitality.

I stayed here for my grandson's wedding. I had a very comfortable stay. Very clean. Access to facilties & reception was across the road at The George. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was very close to the Town Hall which was the wedding venue. I enjoyed my stay here.

I can't fault the rooms, exceptionally presented with a fabulous balcony, finish is top notch, they're just lovely, the only scrub on an excellent review are the bar staff at the pub which book you in, a heads up, if you don't enjoy customer service, find another job because you're detracting from a lovely experience.

Really top class rooms. Lovely beds. Good size rooms. Finished to a great standard. Much better than other local hotels. The food/drink at the George hotel over the road is lovely too. Staff are great. I left belongings in the room on check-out and they had them back to me within 15 minutes of speaking to the receptionist.

Considering some of the reviews I wasn't expecting much. How wrong was I the room was spacious and clean at the back so no noise. The breakfast served in George Hotel opposite was excellent great variety of food and cooked breakfast the best I've had for a while. I will definitely stay here again

The room was lovely clean, spacious. Such a nice hotel and then we had no water, couldn’t even flush the toilet ! And then after half hour was fixed and then we went out and once again no water !! Shame because everything else was great !

Hotel is comfy with nice rooms. However we couldn’t control the air conditioning but a fan was supplied so we did manage to stay cool. Bathroom was very bright first thing in the morning could do with a blind of some sort. Also directions to hotel took us down a bus route and we received a fine so clearer directions to the car park would be helpful.

I never EVER give out star ratings like this but this place was great, location great, and the staff were supper professional, friendly were able to deal with customers in a number of languages.The carpark was not easy to find if following Navigation tools, but after staff explained that Nandos restaurant nearby was to be used to navigate to, all worked out.All in all, well worth a few nights stay.

You have to check in at The George Hotel across the road. Car parking is behind the George Hotel which is £9.50 for 24hrs. Rooms are immediately clean. Lift and stair access. Great location on the Main Street in the town centre.Unfortunately there is no air conditioning. So in the hotter months it can be a bit uncomfortable. Although there is air conditioning in the hallways.
