I worked with Ann and Middlethorpe Interiors on the renovation and re-design of my kitchen, lounge and dining room, following extensive remedial damp work in my Victorian terrace in York.After initial consultation, Ann took on board my requirements, budget and interior tastes and was great at suggesting ideas and pulling together a proposal - pushing me outside my comfort zones at times, but with the aim of creating a beautiful yet functional look, with close attention to the period features and existing limitations of the building.Work took place during the Pandemic, which brought issues of its own, but Ann worked collaboratively with both myself, the Builder, and helped recommend and project manage the excellent tradespeople required to execute the design.There were regular visits and checks on the quality of workmanship - and the resulting renovation was fantastic!Thank you Ann, for all your hard work on this!

I have worked with Ann in both houses we have owned since moving to York - both being completely different to each other. From initial meetings to discuss the window treatments, Ann has an uncanny ability to tap into your mind coupled with a seriously impressive knowledge of fabrics and design. Ann listened, challenged me and presented back ideas that were completely what I had in mind but perhaps struggled in some instances to articulate! Additionally, she's not afraid to push the boundaries and introduce new ideas to schemes that perhaps hadn't been thought of. All of this made the process enjoyable, speedy and so easy! On top of this, Ann is a really nice person to be around which is so important when you're inviting 'trades' into your home. Attention to detail is also one area that sets Ann apart - her standards are extremely high and the finished products are perfect, including the installation. Middlethorpe interiors offer exceptional products and service at a fair price representing real value for money and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them. I will continue to work with Ann on any interiors project from window treatments to complete interior design.

It has been a real pleasure working with Ann and her team. I chose to contact Ann after seeing her projects on the Middlethorpe Interiors website as I was really attracted to the soft furnishings which looked modern and tasteful. Ann came to visit us in our new house and I feel she really took her time to understand what we wanted to achieve from the designproject. She took special note of what we were happy to change and which pieces of furniture we wanted to keep and which had a special meaning to us. Ann has an invaluable knowledge of fabrics and she was wonderful at sourcing swatches and coordinating trimmings but what I especially liked is that she was not frightened to push my boundaries and gave me the confidence to go out of my comfort zone and be more daring with textures and patterns. I am absolutely delighted with the end result and have had so many compliments on the scheme created by Ann and her team. Ann also has a great network of interior contacts and her communication throughout the project was second to none. I had regular updates on lead times and if I had a query she would respond Immediately. Ann and team provided a fantastic colour scheme for our house which saved on numerous conversations on what colours would work well in our house. Ann visited with colour swatches, listened to what our aim was with our house renovation and created a fantastic colour way for the whole house. After our consultation we were provided with sample pots of the chosen paints to ensure we were happy with the colour scheme. Now that the renovation project is completed we have a paint scheme which flows through the house and pulls the house together and the colours flow from room to room creating a fantastic, restful experience. From initial consultation to design, procurement and project management, our Middlethorpe experience has been nothing short of a revelation. Their experience, innovative approach and attention to detail has surpassed our expectations on all levels.

Ann Allan has helped us with interior design over the last six months as we have relocated and downsized from our home of 33 years to an apartment. We set her a tough challenge as we wanted to completely change the style of the main living area to be much more personal to us and our lives, while also accommodating a few pieces of our furniture of different styles but all with emotional value to us. The challenge was all the greater as we first approached Ann in the middle of the coronavirus lockdown and all the work was carried out during the pandemic, following government guidelines. The pressure was on everyone involved to allow us to move in before the virus entered a second wave. Ann rose to the challenge and we are finally in and really pleased with the result. The place now feels like home! The masterstroke was finding a large multicoloured rug which anchored the disparate parts of the scheme as a whole. All Ann's recommended tradesman were also excellent and easy to have around over the three months during which work took place.

I have absolutely no idea about decor or design so when I decided to go ahead with a major reconfiguration of my home I decided to consult an interior designer to ensure I got the internal space just right.
