Just a pointer which I'm sure is a directive from HO. I know it's a minor point it's about bananas! If there are no loose bananas as there were not today, don't buy the wrapped or those stuck together with a band as they are far more expensive. Today we bought some which were priced at 79p banded together. I removed the band and placed then on the self checkout till and the price was 53p for the same unbanded bananas.Come on Sainsbury's do the honourable thing and don't try and blatantly rip people off this way.

In the area on holiday, quiet when we called in. Plenty of choices, clean and tidy. Had time to chat with the checkout operator who gaves us some tips on places to visit.

Only a mid size supermarket, with limited variety of stock ..... range of wines could do with changing every now and then (same old names every week). And they've just installed more self service tills of which mostly everyone is unhappy (mostly old folk in the town and they do not like them)Pays to also shop in Aldi and the Co Op that way you stand better chance of getting what you require!Tesco's in Castle Douglas is much better!!

My husband and I (NE England) were holidaying for a week in Newton Stewart, Scotland in a cottage which supplied everything apart from a cafetiere. Hubby went to this store and asked one of the sales assistants if they had one and she said she would look out the back but came back to say they had none and suggested he try Lidl over the car park which he did. That store had none either but as he was coming out, the sales assistant from Sainsburys ran up to him to say she'd found one for him and if he would be so good to follow her back to the store, she would go and get it. How good of her was that? My husband was so touched by her effort - if they have an employee of the month award, she should get it.
