Jolly Sailor at Orford
I used to work at this pub years ago. It's a lovely place, but under new ownership it has taken a turn for the worse. We ordered chips and two pints of Amstel, which came to £15. When the chips arrived they came in a small cup (pictured). Also, they've taken to playing music, which ruins the historic setting. Locals hate the place now. Staff were very friendly however.

Really nice place, authentically historic and ideally located next to the carpark and Orford Ness Ferry. We arrived soaked after walking around Orford in a storm! Friendly but slightly chaotic service, food was good and tasty but kitchen missed most of the vegetables off 2 roast dinners on our table (but didn't on the table next to us), rather odd that no one noticed in between it being prepared and making it to the table. When raised, staff apologised and offered a free drink or dessert. I had a burger which was good and nice presented. Would definitely return but would check the menu against what arrives at the table.

Jolly Sailor at Orford
We visited for lunch and were warmly welcomed by the staff. We sat in the garden with our dog and had two delicious vegan burgers, as well as a local ale. Despite it being busy, the staff were really attentive and the food was excellent, as well as reasonably priced. We'd definitely come back again and can understand why it was so popular!

Great spot, love this little pub.This hidden gem is an Adnams pub independently ran. It’s has the perfect combination of ales, wine, traditional pub grub and delicate seafood specials - what’s not to like. Thank you to the front of house and kitchen team for a fantastic dining experience.Would highly recommend, we will be back!

Dropped in for a quick pint and a snack. Staff very friendly and helpful, and the small dish of goats cheese with caramelised onion salad was superb. Orford is a little out of the way to get to, but well worth the trip, and this pub, close to the quay, should be on your list to visit.

We stumbled upon the Jolly Sailor and a long weekend in Norfolk, we stay for lunch and we could’ve been happier, the food was tasty and inventive in the service attentive, we ate from the new menu, which had only been running a couple of days, and the staff were very keen to hear feedback, which from us was all good. Highly recommended.

Our first visit since the new owners took over last year - they've made quite a difference. The outdoor bar and new staff for one. But the food today was just stunning. The chicken and tarragon pie was beautifully cooked, and my son said the stacked burger was the best meal he'd ever had.

Popped on the way past after visiting the Orford castle nearby. Staff were amazingly accommodating and friendly. Dinner arrived fast, and portions were very generous. Pinning this place ready for my next visit.

Stayed here for a night in a lovely, comfortable room. Wonderful welcome from Matt when we checked in, excellent evening meal downstairs in the pub later and Millie looked after us brilliantly. Delicious breakfast in the morning topped off a brilliant stay. Would have stayed another night but was fully booked........
