Great location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. However…The room was stifling and we were treated to multiple visits from spiders. The shower cubicle is tiny!We struggled with our bags upon leaving while the staff looked on with indifference.

Our three night stay at Strathness House was great. Check in was easy and the location is perfect for exploring Inverness. With it being right across from the Cathedral, hopping on our Highlands bus tour was easy, too. The restaurant was fantastic and the staff bagged up a very generous breakfast on the days that we were heading out before they served hot breakfast. The only thing we would have changed is the size and firmness of the bed. It was quite firm and when we were both in bed our shoulders touched the edge of the bed and each other's shoulders.

Have you ever gone somewhere and it was one mishap after another from the moment you sent foot in the place 'til you left? That was our experience at the Strathness house. The rooms were fine (no lift), too small twin beds (nearly fell off twice), and just about the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. It's in a great location. Didn't try the restaurant, which is a combination of Indian & Chinese food. The place isn't horrible, but when I'm back in Inverness I'll look for different accommodations.

Very nice place with a riverside view. Central. Nice people working there. Small rooms, not much place in toilet. Excellent bacon for breakfast. I did miss mushroom and tomato. Price ok. Would stay there again.

If it wasn’t for the cracking location (room had a view looking out to the Ness River) this is one depressing hotel. The rooms were stuffy and hot (small fan in the corner), the smallest shower possible, no bar fridge (forgot about storing anything cold) and there is no room service. We had to ask the front desk for more teabags (only two were provided on check in and we were staying three nights).Upon checking out, the staff member at the front desk did not say a word, didn’t ask how our stay was, etc.

It was really nice. Specially service is really nice. We’d had some problem with our train, but we didn’t know how to solve the problem. They helped us, as a result we arrived at different city. And also it’s near to the train station, so it’s easy to get to the train station. And also the breakfast is good.

My biggest complaint is the hotel's Indian restaurant (which I did not try), creates a curry smell wafting throughout the hotel. The smell is pungent. I could hear a person coughing in the room across the hall. The rooms are comfortable, albeit small, the shower is mediocre, location is good. I am on the fence if I would recommend.

Perfect location to visit the best of Inverness. The hotel is decorated with taste, the rooms are spacious and very clean. Easy check-in and check-out, the staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is great as well, with a varied choice at the buffet, as well as hot options on demand. The view of the rooms is breathtaking, overlooking the Ness river. The Strathness House Hotel is also the Tiger on the Wall restaurant, which I wholeheartedly recommend.

Clean rooms, helpful friendly staff. Only thing to beware of, The aroma from the attached restaurant has diffused throughout the hallways and rooms. Not necessarily a bad smell, just something you may wish to consider before booking.

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it. The staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. The breakfast in the morning is great. We were heading out early one morning for a tour and they prepared us a lovely large bagged breakfast as we would be leaving before they were open to serve breakfast. The location is amazing, you are right on the water close to walking paths and other stores and restaurants. We ate one night in their restaurant and it was probably one of the best meals we had on our trip. The only con we had was the parking as there is no designated parking area but we were able to find street/paid parking both nights. Overall if you are heading to Inverness, this is an amazing hotel to base yourself in!
