The team at the Head Office (Addlestone Depot), in particular Steve, couldn’t have been more helpful. From providing different options for the job we were working on, through to communication and getting the kit hire organised at short notice, their customer service was 1st class! Highly recommend! This morning my wife went to Surrey Hire Addlestone to fill a 5Kg gas bottle, having had good service from them on previous occasions. They had none in stock but, without hesitation, Bobby located a bottle at another branch and said he would have it delivered today. Simon delivered it within two hours. We have always had very good friendly and efficient service from them in the past but feel this was going above and beyond the call of duty.

Very negative experience of Surrey Hire Addlestone. Machine I hired for a day became unusable in under half a day (through no fault of my own). I notified them immediately, they couldn't replace machine & I subsequently lost the contract I was working on as couldn't complete the work in time.Surrey Hire still have my £200 deposit (from 6th April, 2021), and insist on charging me for a full days hire (£154.74), whilst accusing me of making the whole issue up. I have now had to get Trading Standards involved.

Please ask for all pricing documentation including offers. One guy offered me a deal to hire a scarifier and aerator and only recorded the deposit. The other returned only a third of the deposit pricing everything higher than the deal offered and actual price. Now they do not pick my calls after one that was polite nor did they keep a promise to return my call. They have not sent an e-mail or communicated any claimed charges. I sense rogue trader tendencies at Addlestone branch.

The staff were helpful with the tool hire. But I brought a patio gas from them. The apprentice loaded the bottle on the van. Only to notice the kid put an empty bottle in the van. I only notice this few days later when I took it out the van. I went back to the store to report it. The owner of the business was there. When I spoke to him his reply was we don’t sell empty bottle. He did not even check his stock. I ended up having to call the credit card company to deal with the issue.

Surrey Hire & Sales Ltd (Addlestone)
The rotavator we were supplied for hire wasn't fit for purpose, the tines were worn down to slits. After phone calls they eventually drove over to the property we were working at and replaced with another machine, but we lost 2 hours of our time and patience from our client. Returning the machine later that day we were met with animosity from the employee behind the desk, being charged full rate with no offer of recourse.
