Buchanan Veterinary Group - Urmston

This is the second vet we had for our vat and I've gotta say we won't be needing a third. Friendly, knowledgeable and looked after our fur baby amazingly

I've had to visit Buchanan's Urmston a few times lately as my cat's been very poorly. The staff have been just great, very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about cat health, behaviour and wellbeing and thanks to them and them spotting something early my cat is much better now. The prices are very reasonable and the aftercare is excellent. Thank you especially Georgie for your support today.

I would give minus stars if I could. If your pet is elderly do not use this vets, they basically give up on your pet. My cat I suspect, has a thyroid problem and doesn't particularly like vets (not surprising). Imagine my horror when they basically said to me outside on the street (because of Covid) your cat is 18 do you think it's worth it? We can't take blood. Not even sure who told me this, as they never introduced themselves, could have been Joe Bloggs for all I know! Twice they mentioned euthanasia, just gave up on my beautiful baby really, as he is older. Glad they don't work in a hospital or nursing home. Spoke to a vet in NYC who is a family friend and was asked did they even check his neck? Any way long story short, I have changed his diet to Hills for thyroid problems and he is a lot better than what he was. I intend to build him up, if it's not too late and take him to a different vet. Will never use this vets again because they didn't even give my baby boy a chance! UPDATE, IGNORE THE REPLY FROM THESE VETS. THEY NEVER REACHED OUT TO ME AND MY BABY BOY IS SLOWLY DYING!! Absolutely an abhorrent vets and will post absolutely everywhere to get the message through to any one considering them putting their loved pets in the care of this company!UPDATE!!! My Beautiful Baby Boy is still alive, I have never been to a vets since, I don't trust them anymore. Had she had her evil way, my Buster would have been robbed of 2 and a half years and counting. Shame on you!

My partner came back from here absolutely furious.The word he used to describe the person who dealt with him was 'obnoxious'.He doesn't get annoyed easily!

Friday 13th ! January 2023Appalling serviceI rang Buchanan’s Urmston to book an emergency appointment for my small dog. I was told they would ring me back, after speaking to a vet. The receptionist rang me back and told me, they could see my dog at 4:30pm. I took time off work and left home, as I work remotely, at 4:15 to get there on time for 4:30.I was told that I was late and my appointment was at 4pm ?! I clearly was misinformed as I was definitely told 4:30pm.The Manager of the Practice came out to see me and told me the vet could not see my dog.Complete uncaring attitude and totally incompetent Receptionist.I will never go back there. It’s a disgrace.

Staff here need training in customer relations.....Manners cost nothing, at least far less than the prices your practice charge!

The best vet and always has been. Amazing staff from reception team to the vets. Helped me out with my very sick bunny and bent over backwards to help us. Thank you so much

Thankyou for getting me in straight away today when I phoned about my very unwell hamster Penny. We arrived and the vet was waiting and explained everything to me before we got Penny put to sleep. She was 2 years old so it was time for her and seeing her so unwell was very upsetting but im relieved we could get her to the vet’s. Thankyou Buchanan.

A number of very rude staff work here!(Urmston branch).They don't seem to be able or willing to deal with any queries about your pets, other than what they are willing to tell you, without getting irritable with you.Both I and my wife have experienced this on a number of occasions now, and will no longer be taking our pets there.They also seem to be unable to deal with a pet that will obviously be nervous in strange surroundings and that is about to have a needle stuck in it.If you want to attempt to refuse service because you can't vaccinate a nervous cat..... you are clearly very bad with animals and should perhaps find a new career!
