I ordered a selection of curries (Keralan Fish, Goan King Prawns, Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani, and Green Chicken and Vegetable Pilaf) to try during Vamaya’s opening week and was certainly not disappointed.I’d ordered them to my workplace as I live just out of the delivery range, and they arrived in very well insulated packaging, good enough to withstand an entire day in the work fridge before I could get them home to my freezer. It was impressive and reassuring that even after 8 hours, they remained frozen.Although the packaging states that for best results the meals should be microwaved from frozen, I don’t actually own a microwave, so I allowed a curry to defrost while I was work and thoroughly reheated it in a saucepan when I got home. It was incredibly convenient, and the prospect of not having to cook was very welcome after a day in the office. I enjoy cooking, but it can quickly become a chore if you’re tired…even more so when you’re only cooking for one.The food itself was delightful, and very moreish. I think if I had defrosted more than one at a time, I could’ve easily eaten all of them, they were THAT delicious. I felt free of guilt eating a ready-made curry, knowing that they’re healthy and the portion sizes are sensible.I will definitely order again and highly recommend Vamaya to anyone, especially those with busy working lives who don’t want to compromise when it comes to good food.The extra little sweet treat was an unexpected bonus!

What a refreshing surprise to find nutritionally balanced Indian food, free from any additives or preservatives, this has got to be a first. The owner tells me the meals are individually prepared and instantly frozen to seal in the goodness. All you have to do is place them in the microwave and out comes a wonderfully aromatic and tasty meal, easy. Thank you Vamaya
