Dyspraxia Therapy Speech & Language Therapy

Sarah worked with my severely dyspraxic daughter on a regular basis for over two years. Sarah took it upon herself to teach her numbers and the alphabet, and was more instrumental in teaching her to read and do maths than the teachers at her school. When Sarah began, my daughter was not able to form words, but soon she was able to use simple sentences, and was communicating for the first time. I have also seen her work with other children (and other parents). She is dedicated to her patients, and we were so fortunate to have her help for our daughter at a critical time. Sarah Colebourne has helped my daughter so much with speech therapy. She is a friendly and kind lady that made us feel at ease as soon as we met her. My son started seeing Sarah from the age of 3 after we failed to get a diagnosis for his speech disorder in the NHS. She knew immediately that he had verbal dyspraxia and we had therapy twice a week for 2 years. She transformed him.Sarah is the most dedicated professional person to work with. She is calm and patient and very creative in her approach. Every session was well planned and totally tailored to our individual needs. Her reports were very detailed , and used by a number of other professionals involved in my son’s development, all of whom she was very happy to liaise with. Sarah was amazing with my daughter who had very limited vocabulary when we began therapy but now she won’t stop talking!! Sarah has tonnes of experience, her sessions are fun and she is very patient. I had a suspicion that my 3-year-old daughter may have Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia. Sarah came highly recommended on a support group I joined and so I booked for an assessment. Sarah responded promptly and scheduled a date the following week! I was concerned that my daughter would not participate remotely as we had never done anything like this before, but Sarah immediately grasped my child’s attention through the screen and performed a thorough assessment for almost 2 hours!! Sarah is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable, taking time to ensure all my questions and concerns were answered. Her report was very thorough and she has been a huge support to our family, even liaising with our NHS therapist. I highly recommend Sarah’s services and give her a full 5 star review.

Sarah was recommended to us by one of our friends. From the first session for assessment and right through all the the therapy sessions Sarah was extremely professional and very prompt with reports and delivering the session. Her competency in dealing with Speech , Dyspraxia and articulation related issues is very good. Even after the agreed sessions were over we go to her every often for additional inputs and resources. Her collection of resources and knowledge base is very useful for a range of Speech and language issues. Highly recommended.

Sarah has a natural intuitive ability with children. She makes sessions so much fun that my son enjoys himself and has made amazing progress. She has loads of toys, games and materials to help in her therapy room. My son enjoys going and Sarah has been very caring & supportive and is always friendly & welcoming.

As a Registered Health professional myself who works with children, I had faith that the NHS would provide therapy for my daughter that she so desperately needed. This was not the case and we were let down, she only ever received assessments and no actual therapy. We had a different therapist every time so nobody actually got to know my daughter and her needs. I found Sarah online after researching for a professional that specialised in literacy as well as speech and language. Sarah was able to identify issues that other professionals had not, and has helped improve my daughters working memory and word recall as well as her literacy and speech and language. Sarah has been a dream come true for us I cannot express what a fantastic professional she is, and the depth of her skill set and knowledge. Sarah has such patience and such a rapport with my daughter and is able to engage my daughter fully for the hour by making the therapy fun with her different games and resources (poor concentration is an issue for my daughter) Sarah has worked with my daughter now for over three years. Sarah has given us hope for our daughter and enabled her to make great progress. I cannot recommend her enough.

I currently take my son to see Sarah to help with his speech disorder. Since starting sessions with Sarah, he has made significant improvements and can now say mummy and daddy, along with many more words! Sarah, is lovely and interacts so well with him and knows exactly how to keep him engaged, which is a real challenge with a 3 year old! Her sessions are all clearly structured, and she keeps extensive notes and provides us with all the sheets for work to practise with him at home. I feel my son is in extremely competent, experienced hands and I'm so thankful I found her.
