Normally I would be giving the Leicester Royal infirmary of four, but tonight absolutely appalling. I was referred to A&E via 111 emergency call told to be seen within an hour for severe eye pain that lasted for three days and that no painkillers were helping so it could’ve been anything. Let’s face it from brain tumour to a stroke at my age or high pressure in my eye. As I have glucoma I arrived there they told me No you’re not booked in for an appointment as I was told I was an 8 1/2 hour I was then told that they would find me a walk-in centre how that’s going to help with opermatholigy I don’t know so decided to leave as it was 3 am. I’ve walked in the dark from quite a dull lit carpark where you have to walk round the back of old buildings which is quite scary for any lady on her own. It’s not directly lit and in front of the hospital emergency department which it should be, although there is a Short Stay Car Park, it’s not very well advertised anyway then got back to the car park at all. By the way the staff member nurse said when I was leaving okay then bye no concern for my welfare whatsoever how the NHS and Leicester Royal infirmary of changed for the worst. Sorry you can tell by the amount of stars you’re getting what a shame. Anyway couldn’t scan my ticket so contacted the man by pushing the button for Help at ticket barrier. He was very helpful and explained you get half an hour free parking and I wasn’t there for half an hour. Shame on you for allowing a patient to walk out the door when you have no idea whether it was a critical condition or not so I’m ringing my GP to get an emergency appointment with my own eye doctor ASAP. Thanks for nothing shame on you

Disgusting behaviour from the A&E receptionists, how can you actually employ such rude and nasty people who have no sympathy for ill patients or any compassion? Receptionists laughing at foreign peoples surnames and whispering like little kids in a playground, talking down at people who can barely stand on two feet, one of the receptionists called Georgina and the other blonde one with a tattoo down one of her fingers, you both shouldn’t be on reception your personalities are rotten and your in the wrong job try and learn how to have a heart before applying for jobs like this

Came here with my grandmother because she had strong stomach pain. We had to wait 3 hours for them to take the blood for testing and after waiting for almost 5 hours for the results, they told us that we need to wait another 9 hours before we can discuss about the blood test results with a doctor. Giving one start for the fact that they provide instant medications that relieved my grandma's pain however me and my grandmother had to spend all night in their waiting area doing absolutely nothing. They should have at least told us to come back the other morning when the doctors would be present so at least she could have taken some rest.

Thank you Mr Luis leite!! I'd give it a 2 star for the amount of back and forth I had to do but I've had to boost it up to 5 only because of Mr Luis leite. Amazing clinical practitioner. He deserves 10 stars and more. I had been sent from Gp to A&E to Gp and then back to A&E and finally someone did something about my situation and sorted it. Thank you Mr Luis leite for going out of your way and getting me the post exposure rabies vaccine. It's thanks to wonderful good practitioners like yourself who go out of your way in making sure patients are taken care of. Really easy to talk to , straight to the point. Vaccine injection didn't hurt one bit , really made me comfortable and I usually hate needles so it was nicely done overall.

I am ofcourse grateful for the care I received, but on second thoughts it really was below par. Let me explain why...You initially meet and chat to the receptionist who takes down some details and what is wrong with you. You then get a record and have to wait to be called for assessment. On this occasion, a sat night it took about 3h to get to this bit where my BP and temperature were taken, plus some notes. That's about it. Pass on to the next level! Then, once you've been seen and assessed you get to wait in the actual queue for treatment/testing. This took a further 3h. And about 3h in the actual bed, so a total of 6h were spent only to obtain a blood test plus waiting 3h on a bed for the results. This could've easily been done at the assessment stage.I have been to Norwich a&e and the blood tests and urine tests are done more or less on entry. I.e. so that whilst you are waiting for the test results you can be assessed and treated once results are back. The way LRI are doing it they want you to be in a cubicle or bed before/so this can happen. Needless stuff.Anyway, the point of it all is this... I had a high BP and fever at assessment (3h after I arrived). By the time I got to the treatment stage my fever had gone down and BP was normal too. I was even offered food and drink in the treatment area, which is semi ridiculous, but handy as you'll be waiting a long time! Needs a bit of fine tuning and it'd run a lot lot better!! If they want it to that is...

Brilliant staff, amazing with my mother. Yes there was a wait, but the staff were great.nHaving admitted her they kept me posted and when she deteriorated I got a personal call from the doctor overseeing her care. They could not have done more. Thank you

Took 4hrs to measure blood pressure and get pain killers. Then got told another 8hrs wait for a blood test. Who knows how much longer to get the results back and whichever test would be needed afterwards. >12hr wait before you even get treated but they call it an emergency service. Absolutely ridiculous.

Absolutely fantastic kind doctors and nurses. Thank you so much for your help, care and attention. I really appreciate the care you gave me in A&E and how much better you made me feel with your knowledge, treatment and swift efforts during the nighttime. I’m on the mend now and feeling very appreciative to you all. thank you :)
