Outstanding quality fish and shellfish. I got 3 large very alive male crabs, 12 huge lively Langoustines from Mull and 400 grams of local Langoustine tails today. As on previous visits very satisfied with the quality and it is worth paying the price for such excellent Scottish seafood. We get our Lobsters in St Andrews but Lowrie have them too!! The Fish counter is just excellent and as a retired hotelier I should know!! Well done. EHB

So disappointed today as this was the 1st time trying this fishmongers. When we got home we had to remove the centre of the haddock as it was full of bones. Then on checking our £19 cod we had to remove bones from this as well. I don't expect to spend good money to be removing bones i definitely won't be back.

I ordered a fish box from them twice. The first time I requested just seabass, but they even gave live langoustines! Everything was so fresh and naturally sweet, good quality indeed! The second I requested everything including John Dory and red gurnard. They were able to provide everything with exquisite quality. You can see that the eyes of those fish are so clear and the flesh is very firm.I will order for more fish boxes in the future. No fuss, good quality, worth the money!!

This place is truly outstanding. I’ve visited around 15-20 times in last two months and bought superb seafood. The cheerful and very knowledgeable service is a delight - their willingness to select oysters not too hard to chuck for a beginner has been much appreciated. I’ve a friend from Santiago de Compostela - a Spanish fish and shellfish heaven - and I will be able to take him to this place confident that he will see the best Scottish produce.The East Neuk has long needed an outlet such as this. It is really top rate. Long may it thrive.

Fish is amazing..so fresh. Lewis delivers to the door which is an added luxury. David and Lewis are really friendly and knowledgeable. Would thoroughly recommend Lowrie fish for any fish dish. Liz G

What a fantastic find just 15 minutes from our home in Lower Largo.Amazing selection of brilliantly fresh fish and seafood beautifully displayed.We have visited three times in the past six weeks and purchased good stocks of various items including turbot, brill, halibut steaks & fillets, monkfish, red mullet, hake , langoustine tails etc.Service is very friendly and knowledgable and all items can be vacuum packed for freezing.Until we found Lowries we bought all our fish from Wing of St.Mawes in Cornwall and had it delivered in bulk three times a year spending around £1500 - £ 2000 each year ( not bad for just two people !! ) and indicative of our great love of fish.However there were occasional delivery hiccups probably caused by distance and unreliable carriers.Thanks to Lowries we now have no such problems and will happily drive to St.Monans to see what varieties are on offer and to purchase exclusively from them.As former food critics and judges of the Scottish Tourism Oscar Awards for hotels and restaurants we were always delighted to encounter top quality produce and that is what you will DEFINITELY encounter at David Lowries ......a great find and a real delight.Highly recommended.

First visit to the shop today. Lovely fresh haddock and the best hot smoked salmon I have ever tasted.

Nice shop. Clean and neat. Great fish selection. They guy was very kind and he explained everything for us in detail. We picked up some monkfish for dinner tonight! Totally recommended.

Whenever we go there, no matter how much or how little we buy, we are always treated well. If there is a particular type of fish we want but will not make it for a cople of days they are always honest and tell us whether or not that is a good idea. If we have a question about any of the fish it is always answered even if it really is a stupid question. We cannot recommend them highly enough. There are many places to buy fish, but they are well worth the trip. Do yourself a favor, treat yourself to some excellent fish and get it there from terrific people.

Really friendly guy, great fish products, got some nice smokies, and cockles, also a wonderful array of fish and shellfish. Really worth a visit.
