I went to visit Lian for dinner with my sister and uncle who are both vegetarian. They had the singapore fried noodle with Bamboo shoots and Schezhuan Tofu. I had a special singapore fried noodles with chicken and prawn and a side of Satay chicken. The best chinese restaurant I have ever visited, I will definitely be back to this hidden spot. We were served by Ally and William. They were so friendly and made us feel comfortable with our vegetarian requirements.

Attentive and friendly staff ... Clean interior although slightly dated.. attention to detail on the food presentation was brilliant .. the food itself was definitely above average . Over all a enjoyable meal that would be hard to fault .. even the bill was moderate.

Great restaurant, shame it’s let down by a bad system in place for takeaway orders.It’s just turn up when your time is ready and pray you don’t have to wait for a further 30mins.Food was average, definitely not as good as it should be from such a reputable claimed place, but that’s just my personal opinion.I wouldn’t recommend it, witham has a vast number of Chinese takeaway places with decent turn around times too.Communication is key and perhaps if there was more of this here the customer service wouldn’t be so bad.

The food was nice overall. I was slightly disappointed with the portion size given the price and also not a great deal of gluten-free choices. The staff were friendly and the food we did order was good.

Standards do vary but if you are fortunate to get the top chef then you will have a superb meal. On the right night everything is delicious and you will want to go back the next day, but unfortunately it isn't always so because you never know who is cooking for the night - so it's hit and miss. Standards do vary, ranging from fantastic to just okay, it all depends on what chef you get - but if you are lucky you are in for a treat! Nice staff and good vegan options too.
