Cannock Chase Trekking Centre

Absolutely brilliant!I've barely ridden, our daughter has some experience, but my wife is already a good rider. We all had a fantastic hour riding through the woods, the instructors putting everyone at ease and really making it enjoyable and relaxing. We'll definitely be back, despite it being a two hour drive.There's no problem getting a horse that suits you, and all the staff, including Lisa the owner, are fantastic. Definitely recommended and can't wait for our next ride.

Cannock Chase Trekking Centre is an absolute gem, offering a perfect blend of well-trained horses, friendly staff, and stunning views. The owner's (Lisa's) passion for her work shines through in every detail, creating an unforgettable experience!The horses are well cared for, and the staff's knowledge and assistance ensure a wonderful trekking adventure. Myself, mum and sister in law have been coming here for the last year and absolutely love it. Lisa and her team are incredible, not to mention the horses! They provide everything you want from a hack- beautiful scenery, wonderful horses, thrilling canters and all done safely. It’s an absolute pleasure and the highlight of our month to come here. Such a wonderful place to cycle as a family with trails, paths and features for all ages and ability. Our 3YO loved all the play parks. Lots of picnic tables for lunch and well located facilities - we will definitely return, the parking season pass looks like a good deal.

Absolutely love coming here for a hack for so many reasons. This was our 3rd time and Lisa and Mark and the rest of the team always make us feel so welcome and they really look after you.It’s plain to see that the horses are well cared for and there’s an infectious joy from Lisa on every ride out. The experience is always amazing and you feel safe in the hands of the knowledgeable staff.There’s always an emphasis on pairing each rider with the most suitable horse and that’s encouraging to see, especially in the mixed ability treks. There really are treks available for all levels of proficiency, and Cannock Chase makes for a beautiful setting and is perfect for all levels of rider.Aside from the treks, the centre is well maintained and the bistro serves great food. We’re particularly fond of the bacon butties! The coffees are also great.There’s plenty of parking available and toilet facilities.Highly recommend. Thanks Lisa!

My friend and I took both of our granddaughters for a trek last Friday! It was wonderful. I haven’t really ridden for 51 years (apart from a lesson a week back) but Katie is a good little rider (aged 11).We both gained confidence and found Lisa and team to be attentive and supportive. Definitely recommend this place.Katie loved the canters (so different to in an arena) and I found my rising trot easier with each go at it. Just wish we lived closer. Thank-you so much Lisa and co. It's a lovely facility. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cannock Chase (once my play ground ) is an amazing place to ride, there are no concerns about vehicles. The horses are well cared for and you are matched based on experience. After the ride you can go inside the cafe with great food and drinks and it has a lovely relaxing atmosphere. I only wish I could go regularly but alas I currently live in Canada so only go when visiting family.

Myself and my friend have visited here twice now, and both treks have been fabulous! Lisa matches you with the perfect horse (I was on Tyri) and everything is done very safely. All the staff are friendly, and frequently ask if you’re having a good ride. The canters are absolutely thrilling and on the mixed ability trek, we did 4-5 good canter stretches.There are a few ‘negative’ reviews on here about the team not letting them canter - Lisa, Mark and her staff assess your ability to ride, and if they don’t think you’re canter ready, they will advise you not to canter. This is the safest thing for everyone! Couldn’t recommend more - I will be back!!!

Visited the trekking centre for the first time on Saturday. Everyone was so welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. So many beautiful horses to cater for all abilities. Amazing scenery and such a great, professional facility. I wasn’t expecting any tuition but Lisa gave me some tips along the way which has really helped with my riding ability. She made me feel more confident and secure in less than a minute. Thank you to everyone for your kindness, I will definitely be back in future!

Outstanding riding stables that offer a mix of ability rides from novice up to experienced riders. Highly recommended, with great customer service.But be prepared to pay highly for a snack in their super smart cafe bar.
