Dr Nathan Anthony Private Psychiatrist London

While I have not actually seen doctor Anthony so I do not know how he is, I am posting my first ever 1* review for how I was dismissed on the phone. I am autistic, it is not a huge deal but it is what it is. I have tried the NHS for years, mostly I've survived without meds but at the moment I am going through a very tough time. The NHS have been no help so I thought I would seak a private peactioner, but apparently as with so many psychologists, if you actually need them, you are too much

Dr Nathon completely set me at ease and that allowed us to have an transparent conversation that would not have been possible without his kind and calm persona. He clearly explained to me what was going to happen at each step and how it was working.Unlike the other reviews, I had no trouble with his secretary Teresa, and instead found her to be helpful and responsive. She did an excellent job at making sure everything was setup for Dr Anthony to do his work.

Like the other review here it is a shame but I have to report the exact same. Never got to speak to Dr Anthony so cannot speak on his expertise or his manner however his secretary was extremely rude, dismissive and does not answer questions specifically. I got brushed under the rug, was not told a definitive time of wait list and was not listened to. I was undermined and turned away. She is your typical ‘gate keeping’ secretary. Would not surprise me if she is only trying to take on private clients as they are likely going to be paying more than people with insurance. Think it might be time Dr Anthony considers getting a new receptionist as this seems to be the second 1 star complaint about the same thing. Their process is also misleading, they ask you to inform them of any other issues you may be having so that they can provide more information but it seems like they just want that information in order to find excuse to turn you away. Unfortunately even if I could afford to go privately, rather than through insurance, she has made me lose trust in the service. I am now perusing stuff with someone else who has been much more welcoming. It is such a shame that she has to make things so difficult for people struggling when it’s already really hard to find the right help. Stay away if you want to go with an admin team that takes you seriously and answers your questions concisely.

From the moment I met with the doctor he clocked one of my core conditions that links it all together.Straight away a plan of action was put in place what has changed my life, more than I could possible imagine.I always felt safe and cared about; listened too and have recived real results.

Dr.Anthony is the best. Impressive professional knowledge with a very kind caring heart. He makes me feel being heard and understood. It was a short journey with him. But whenever I think of him, it brings me a smile. It is very empowering in life.
