Before you buy a car battery or similar from this Halfords store please read my experienceOn the 23/12/22 i purchased a car battery for my farthers xtype jaguar at a cost of £90.99pwith a 2 year no quibble warranty ,or so I was told by the member of staff who dealt with my purchase, by early February 2023 my farther went to start his car to find that the battery was flatHe called me to tell me of the issue, I promptly went to my farthers who was still recovering from a cancer operation on his skull ,I jump started the car of my work vehicle ,We then drove his car back to the bidston store we’re I purchased the battery ,I parked up left the vehicle running with my farther sitting in it & went into the store to explain the issue ,I spoke to the actual member of staff that I purchased the battery from , after explaining the problem he said he would send a member of staff out to test the battery , the member of staff after a lengthy wait finally came with a gadget to test the battery he openly admitted he was unfamiliar with the device but he would do his best to find the fault ,he turned the engine of he put the testing apparatus on to the battery played with a few buttons then told me the testing machine was saying all cells in the battery were ok & went to tell his colleague , his colleague then told me there was nothing wrong with the battery & I should buy a charger & charge it ,the warranty would not cover it as his device had said all cells are fine ,I asked could I speak to the manager and was told he wasn’t in today , I asked for there customer complaints phone number wich he gave me , I then went back to the car & it wouldn’t start I went back inside the store & asked for some help to get the car going & explained that my farther couldn’t help me push the car as he was still recovering from a cancer operation on his skull he then sent the same member of staff out with a portable battery pack he attached it to the battery on the car only then to tell me the battery pack was flat & there was no more they could do as they didn’t have another one, though they had plenty for sale on there shelves , they left me & my farther stranded in the pouring down rain, I had to call my nephew who came jump started the car & we were able to get back home .The next day I rang customer complaints & basically got no satisfaction of them either.I bought a battery charger at a cost of £75 from euro parts charged the battery put it back on the car & it was ok for a couple of months , then it went flat again , so I charged it again same thing a couple of months later .My farther recently passed away from the cancer so on Friday 10/11/23 I took the battery of the car once again & took it back to the bidston store I went to the reception & asked could I speak to the manager , the man behind the counter said you are speaking to him , I explained what happened in February , without saying a lot , he then tested the battery & then told me it had been overcharged & the warranty was void , words failed me , I told him that he could keep the battery as it was of no use to me , he then told me I couldn’t leave it there & proceeded to follow me out the store with the battery I told him I’m not taking the battery it was there’s to do what they want , he the manager started to follow me around the car park & then into B&Q were I said stop following me it was very disturbing & inappropriate he then walked awayTo sum it all up , I ended up buying another battery at a lower cost of £80 from euro parts who I will be using from now on excellent service, as of Halfords I will never use nor will my family & friends & anybody else I can tell of my experience with this conning robbing companyThey took our money & ran disgraceful outfit Halfords isThank you for reading & I hope it helps anybody thinking of purchasing of Halfords bidston in the future.Yours faithfully EDDIE

This rating is ONLY for the service I received from John, who helped with a windscreen wiper issue. This was my 3rd visit to your branch due to the blade coming off whilst driving, after it was fitted in your Eastleigh, Hampshire branch. (It came off on the motorway, on a road with a school and 2 other occasions whilst driving - Thankfully it got wedged in my bonnet on the motorway!)There ended up being a small plastic component that had broken, causing it to fall off continuously. This wasn't checked by the previous 2 members of staff, causing futher danger to other vehicles and pedestrians. When I visited for the 3rd time John was extremely pleasant, thorough and provided me with a new blade. Fantastic service and entirely grateful he took the time to investigate the issue instead of fobbing me off. Thank you John!!

Very polite and helpful staff good service at a brilliant price . I went in to ask for help fitting a back brake light I left after I had new bulb fitted and a free 10 point check on my car the man that did it was very good and polite .This was at Bidston moss

I went in to get some more bulbs as my nearside dipped and foglight had blown. At the till, Bethany asked me if I was sure if these were the correct ones. Not being 100 per cent sure, we headed out to my car for a look. She had brought her tool kit with her. It took a while for her to get the foglight cover. I told her that I admired her persistence. Once the cover was off, the bulb was changed as it was the correct one. She then proceeded to change the dipped lamp which also gave her the runaround for a while too. She was very calm and tenacious. Once finished, the lights were tested with a positive result. I cannot stress enough the fantastic customer service I received today from Bethany. Thank you so much :)

So hassle free and convenient you can hardly believe it. This is the second battery I have had fitted. First my daughters car then a couple of weeks later mine. There was NO WAITING and the battery was fitted in about 10 mins start to finish. Superb and efficient service- well done Halfords !!

Had a nice experience in store today the fella who served me was a lovely bloke and a top man he fixed my bike and it rides better than ever the bidston moss store comes highly recomended to buy mountain bikes.

I visited the Bidston store today to get a passenger side dipped headlight bulb replaced. The guy on the till recommended getting the pair done which I did and paid. This was 11.17. Two hours and 4-5 staff assistants later I was told they couldn’t do it and I needed to take it to a garage! I did receive a full refund and got to keep the new bulb which had not been fitted. I went to A to B Motors in Hoylake who did not put it on a ramp or indeed drop the bumper but replaced the bulb in 10 minutes! If you’re going to offer a repair/service facility then at least make sure the staff are adequately trained and have the correct facilities.
