Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport - Nec, an IHG Hotel

Nice rooms, bathroom tiles were slightly grubby but generally, hotel was clean. We loved the pool and steam room. Breakfast was also good with hard working chefs and helpful staff. Receptionists could have been more welcoming on arrival. Also, experienced some noise at night due to party going on in the events hall but the hotel does offer earbuds if needed. Overall enjoyed our stay and will be back again if in the area.

I stay here occasionally when in the area and love the location. The breakfast is excellent, the pool is modern, clean and always a pleasure to use. It's a good choice for short stays or if flying from Birmingham but it's not without a few issues.Some of the staff are lacking in customer service skills. On two occasions now we arranged a late checkout with one member of staff, only for another member of staff the following day seemingly having no knowledge of it. Seems to be a lack of communication or adding notes to their system. I do have to say that the staff in the restaurant are amazing, so friendly and can't do enough for you.Prior to us arriving the hotel upgraded" our room to another room type without a sofa bed for our child. My wife called to explain that this wouldn't be acceptable and so they reinstated the original room but tried to charge us full price

I have never had such incredible, caring, and consistent service at a hotel. I was blown away. The attention to detail by each and every team member was incredible - and it was throughout the entire 4 days of my stay for a conference event. From the cute messages on my mirror, to remembering my food preferences, the team went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and special. I’ve stayed at 5 star hotels which didn’t wow me as much as this. The whole team should be commended - whoever is in charge of training and customer experience is absolutely nailing it. Loved that the hotel has a gym and pool for pre and post conference sessions, and the buffet lunch that they put on for our event was exceptional and varied across all three days. Highly recommend staying here - such a hidden gem in the airport hotel world.

This was our second visit to the hotel over the last few months and we had a lovely time. The room was clean, and we had a fantastic view of the aircraft taking off and landing.As usual the breakfast was exceptional, with really helpful staff including Maddie and Charlene. The chopped fruit and freshly made pancakes were our favourites!Our evening meal was delicious and between Mo and Selini we were completely looked after throughout our meal times. One evening we chose the curry, it was the best curry we had ever had!We are both registered disabled and benefited from using the swimming pool while staying. We had a great time in the pool and are really grateful for the accessible changing room that is poolside.We’ve made a booking to hold a family reunion at the hotel next spring and we are really looking forward to meeting up with family that we haven’t seen for several years here and relaxing in a place that’s clearly able to meet everybody’s needs.Thank you to everybody who works at the Hotel for all that you do, you are a fantastic team!

I have really enjoyed this place. Although due to my busy days I was here for dinners and nights only, I liked the proximity to the airport and job (JLR plant), nice enviroment, great food and cosy rooms. Wi-fi was fast, everything was clean. I was able to hear the planes but it was not disturbing at all. I really liked the staff, breakfast was OK (my friend missed the bowls though, there were only deep plates). Evenings were a bit busy/crowded, but I did not mind. It´s no luxury but the exprecience was nice. Cons - I found the breakfast sausages a bit tasteless and I had no view from the window, but these are not important things.

Very easy to access the hotel, although traffic in the area can be very congested at times. There are significant roadworks around the NEC.Room was very clean. WiFi is free. My room had a conventional shower, however other colleagues had a lavish new shower system.Bedding was clean and comfortable. Plenty of pillows are provided.Breakfast was decent, with a fantastic selection to choose from.Self service checkouts made for a speedy exit, with your invoice emailed to you.Recommended.
