Mark Nelson Vet, Westerham

I’ve been using Mark Nelson Vets for around 4 years. I use this practice for my own 3 dogs, all the foster dogs that come via the 2 rescue organisations I assist and also as emergency vets for dogs in my care via my Dog Day Care & Boarding business. I have had 2 separate occasions where my own dogs were seriously ill. One had suspected lymphoma and the other started having cluster seizures. They referred me to specialists in Godalming and managed to get me emergency appointments with the specialists within 36hrs. Both Mark and Bethany have been wonderful in treating my dogs. They never make me feel rushed. They are incredibly thorough. I never mind waiting to see the vet (they do on some occasions run late but I know that is because they treat and inspect your pets with care and in detail). The reception staff and nursing staff are also incredibly helpful. They have been so wonderful as well doing checks on all the rescue dogs that have come through my doors and many go to forever homes outside the Westerham area but they always prepare a report for the new vets. I cannot fault the care and time they have given to me for all the dogs. We thank you very much particularly in these unprecedented times - from Lydia, Fredo, Izzy, Vilma and all the dogs you have treated particularly over the last 12 months.

Took my cat was told she had a blockage or mass so had a very expensive x Ray next day turned outnext day was constipation diagnosed by another vet at practice .Anna receptionist was very off hand and rude,very upset no I will not go back.

Could not wish for a more experienced and knowledgeable vet than Mark Nelson and cannot recommend him highly enough. He has always shown great compassion and care from the start of my cat's lives and so importantly at the end too.

Friendly operation where pets' needs appear to be professionally identified and addressed. Unlike some previous practices we have used in the past, never come under pressure to sign up for expensive extras which are not needed.

Charlie was really unwell. I made an appointment with Mark. My border collie is only at ease seeing Mark and his usual approach to Charlie was perfect.My mind was put at rest and Charlie was prescribed with antibiotics. He is well on the way to recovery.

Very rude receptionist, my cat was neutered here and I was thinking of joining the pet plan as my vets is now in the ulez but will stick to my own vets. Maybe this vets shouldn't be neutering cats for the cats protection league as the receptionist clearly made it known she was far superior to us or maybe she's just rude to everyone. I don't normally leave reviews but I found this very upsetting and even my 10 year old noticed the atmosphere around this lady. Its a shame as this lady is the veterinary surgery's first point of contact.

This is just to thank mark for all he's help over the years with our beloved dog HUDSON if it wasn't for mark we would of lost our Hudson years ago I always use mark and recommend him to everyone! ! Rip Hudson Jeffrey jefferson vella xx

The best vet ever!!! Our bulldog was really ill and they've giving him the best care possible. Definitely will recommend to all our friends and anybody with bulldog!!! Thank you to all the team at Mark Nelson Vets, you guys are the best!!! Prices are good too so don't hesitate to book!!!

This practice treats animal welfare as their top priority. From my experience, I can describe this vet as ethical, skilled and professional.My regular vet was unable to perform a surgery on my guinea pig due to lack of resources, I called around 15 other places, none would take an animal that was not registered or insisted on a consultation first even though I had a documented diagnosis. Mark Nelson Vet recognised the urgency of the situation and agreed to book a surgery after confirming diagnosis based on the medical history and scans from my veterinarian. All members of staff were very professional and helpful, I was informed of all risks and estimated costs upfront, there were no hidden charges or inflated prices. All instructions were clear and the operation was a success. All Covid related regulations have been adhered to as well. I called a couple of times post-op for advice and my questions were answered promptly and to my satisfaction. The surgeon is very skilled, the incision site heals nicely and my pet is recovering well. I believe every member of staff in this veterinary practice does everything they can to save lives and ensure good quality of life of all animals, and in my case they went an extra mile to perform a life saving operation at short notice, for which I am grateful. From a conversation I had with the vet, I could tell their goal is to avoid preventable loss of life and that they take animals' suffering and quality of life seriously. All charges were fair and there were no questionable items on the bill.
