So, the guy might come across as a little abrasive / not that commercial - turning down work as he doesn't like working on shoes that Timpsons etc have ruined". Be prepared for this. He sees himself as a master tradesman and fixing badly repaired shoes is beneath him. That said

Owner was rude and dismissive about am extra sole on a pair of shoes. Wanted to charge £200 for new soles on shoes. Clearly didn't want the work. If you don't want the work just say you don't do that particular thing don't be rude then deliberately over charge because you don't want to do it. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Fantastic knowledge and attention to detail, could have stayed all day and chatted about shoes. Daniel was a great help, he took time to think through any potential solutions and explained the process he would use. He offered advice and quoted us to mend two pairs of boots at a very fair price. Will definitely be back.
