A brilliant service provided by brilliant staff. They went the extra mile to accommodate me when I needed an urgent eye examination. I cannot thank them enough for their professional and friendly service. They are by far the best opticians that I have ever been to. I recommend them unreservedly.

Brilliant. Rob is extremely knowledgeable and told me more about my complicated eyesight than any other optician has ever done before and I'm 60! I will never go anywhere else now. The ladies helped me to find some lovely glasses and were very patient and talked me through the different choices I could have. Thankyou to all the team.

Attended last year for my first ever eye appointment and can remember feeling extremely rushed by the lady giving me an eye test. Left with a £150 pair of glasses with a blue light filter due to my computer use as I was told that my right eye was weak. Returned a week later to mention that the prescription was wrong and that the glasses were making no difference to my vision, but was told 'that's just how glasses are'.Went to Specsavers last week for a check up and was told that the prescription I'd been given was THREE TIMES lower than what it should be, and no, my eyes hadn't got worse over a year, I'd just been given the wrong prescription initially. Now had to pay an additional £100 as my current prescription wasn't available to be used on Specsavers lenses, so I have a £150 pair of glasses due to this branch that are basically pointless.

My viral eye infections was quickly diagnosed and a full explanation of self help was clearly given. I was unable to complete the eye examination but have a follow up appointment when I return from holiday. The staff are friendly and willing to explain details of the condition. As a hard lens wearer of many years this is the best opticians and saved me a trip to the GP.Many thanks to everyone.

Wonderful. Can’t praise enough how professional and caring the staff are. Fit me in for appointment within 30 minutes, worked through their lunch and explained everything they were doing throughout. The lady who booked my appointment went out of her way to ensure everything went well.I can’t praise Rob enough - he spent two hours doing all tests, explaining everything with clarity and professionalism throughout. A brilliant team and all of them a credit to their profession. Thank you all so much.

I was referred to this practice as an emergency. It was 4.50 on the Thursday before Easter.Rob rang me, and, after discussing my symptoms he advised me to attend immediately even though the practice was due to close at 5.30When I arrived I was met by Rob and he put me at ease immediately.I was given an extremely thorough examination by Rob who explained everything to me as he was doing it and why. He was caring and very understanding. My visit was during the COVID 19 isolation and every possible precaution was taken. I required a referral to a consultant and Rob ensured that a full report and referral was actioned. He rang the clinic where he referred me, to ensure everything was in place. I absolutely cannot praise him enough, he reassured me and I left, after my lovely cup of tea from Claire, feeling that I was very lucky to have seen Rob.Rob and Claire finished at least 30 minutes late due to my consultation but were very gracious and told me it wasn’t a problem.Update: my eye is now completely healed after 10 days of antibiotics and 2 other medicationsThank you so very much.Bridget Doherty

Having been sent to Val Hughes by the chemist on Monday with a sore eye Zara and the team acted swiftly to take a look. They referred me to hospital straight away. I ended up on antibiotics for an infection that could have taken my sight.I want to thank them for acting so quickly and calling me a few days later to make sure all was well! I’ll be forever greatful! Thank you so much for your help!

Always a great experience at this opticians, we are under Manchester Royal for our little boy - they issue the prescription and we bring it here. Had about 4 pairs from here so far and every time they have been brilliant, friendly and very accommodating to our little ones. Highly recommend!(Photo of our boy trying on some new frames).
