GBS Swim School

My 2 children (aged 10 & 13) have just completed an intensive 1-week swim course with GBS and I have been extremely impressed by the whole experience.My initial enquiry was almost immediately answered by a personal phone call from the school's owner - it was obvious that she cares passionately about getting the children into groups based on age & ability where they can feel comfortable and make good progress.The teaching was excellent - at the level we were at, they had the focused attention of 2 teachers in the water for a group of six students, so they got instant feedback and guidance on every movement they made.  The lessons were incredibly well structured too - everything built up gradually in small steps so that they could understand and practise each small movement before trying to add another. I had hoped to see them improve a bit over the week, but was amazed to see clear progress by the end of the first session.I would strongly recommend GBS to anyone looking to build swimming skills and confidence.

Great teachers, very professional! We did only one term as we are leaving UK, but in few months we saw great improvement in my daughter’s swimming skills.

I cannot recommend Sandra and her team of swim coaches highly enough. My daughter joined GBS after not progressing at another swim school. To start with she was timid and did not enjoy the water. She recently left the school after progressing all the way to the top class and is now a competent and able swimmer who now loves the water. She would have gone on to lane swimming but for other commitments. Thank you Sandra and all the team.

I am a new parent at GBS and I must say very happy with the swim school’s (especially Sandra’s) professionalism and standards with their communication, responsiveness, flexibility to meet my requirements and above all the attitude with which children are taught. The assessment of my both my kids current swimming capabilities was fairly and properly done. No biases and no under-assessments (as we have experienced elsewhere unfortunately).My son has done a couple of classes only yet and I already see improvement in his technique.Highly recommend this school for learners as well as for advanced swimmers who want to work on building stamina.

So grateful to GBS for their work teaching my son to swim. He was so nervous and everyone was patient and kind. Never pushing too hard until he was ready to move on. Sandra and her team are excellent and honest in where your childs ability stands at any given time. I can't rate them highly enough.

We have had a really good experience with Sandra and the rest of the team at GBS swim. Sandra and the teachers have been really good and my daughter has made huge progress in a short space of time!Not only she’s progressing but she’s also really enjoying herself.Sandra and the team are keeping a close eye to each child’s development, enabling progress as and when necessary. Completely recommend GBS swim school. Our youngster was struggling to engage and improve at his old swim school having reached a certain level. I’m so glad we found GBS and had the assessment lesson. Our youngster and his Dad both came bouncing out of his assessment lesson. I went along for his second lesson, seeing the joy on his face through the lesson was wonderful. The improvement through the lesson was amazing.Also the excitement and delight on the instructors faces when the next bit fell into place for each child, it obviously matters to them too. Instant feedback given to each child after every width, both what to work on and what they did well make the lessons really worthwhile. Highly recommend!

I have no hesitation in recommending this amazing swim school. My daughter has only been swimming at GBS swim school for a short time (4 terms) and I am incredibly impressed with the progress she has made. There is a very high standard of teaching, instruction and organisation. The children get the maximum quality of time and teaching in every session. There is an ethos of ‘progression’ where the children are challenged to improve their achievements at the end of every term, this is a great motivation! I am very grateful to Sandra and her team for their amazing efforts every week, my daughter is now a confident and independent swimmer!

My 3 daughters have been swimming with GBS swim school for the last 3 months. Sandra and her team are absolutely amazing. I actually live in Oxfordshire but travel to Reading because this swim school is that good. I have used various swim schools over the years but none have been as good as GBS Swim School.The teachers are so good at providing bespoke lessons to my girls, even though they are in a group lesson. Their technique and confidence in the water has vastly improved since they have joined GBS. Thank you Sandra and team, you are all truly amazing!
