Oakham Grange Residential Care with Nursing

I visited Oakham Grange today and met with some of the senior management team. As a nurse I found the ethos, passion and vision of the team innovative, exciting and enabling. It is clear that residents can expect to receive the highest possible standard of care.The building itself is stylish and welcoming, combining a high end, luxury feel with lots of homely and individual touches. Not an easy thing to achieve. The attention to detail is superb and means the whole experience is thoughtful, inclusive and positive for residents and their families.

Oakham Grange is a stunning home, beautifully furnished and the staff are a delight to deal with.Highly recommend this home.

There is never enough staff at this home. My father in law has been here for 5 months now. Just come out of hospital 6 days ago, wife went to see him today and his washing was still in his bag on the floor. Every time one of the family has visited in the last week he has just been sat on his bed, no TV on no remote in his room, value for money??? I don't think so.

I was meant to be going to oakham grange the other day for a care assistant position I'm glad I didn't go to it now looking at all the bad reviews this homes got and bad cqc reports it's shocking I've found another care position else where .

Having worked within the care industry for many years, I have to say Oakham Grange is certainly one of the best residential care homes I have visited through work purposes. Katherine who is the General Manager (and qualified nurse) has an amazing team of care workers and nurses whose energy and upbeat spirit certainly rubs off on the residents. From talking with staff members, you can see how much they enjoy their job and you can see this from how happy the residents are. I had a lovely 30 min chat with one resident in the garden telling me her life story....but she was telling me with such a big smile on her face because she is happy. This is testament to the great work from all employees at Oakham.

We recently met with the Oakham Grange team and they were all very friendly and helpful. We had a tour around the building and I can honestly say it is one of the best care homes I have ever seen. All of the rooms have been beautifully designed and there has been a lot of thought put into the whole experience. I would certainly recommend Oakham Grange to anyone needing residential or nursing care.

It has taken me a few months to decide to write a review but after much pressure from my family, and having heard about the latest inspection (which was appalling), I felt compelled to urge anyone considering placing a loved one in Oakham Grange, DON'T. The place is appallingly run, all with agency staff (as they admitted that cant hold on to staff), with terrible care and awful food. As a family, we are not the complaining types, but my mother was so distressed and her health deteriorated so massively, we had to find another home (which has been a huge success and is in a different league to that of OG). None of our comments were ever rectified, nothing was done about a resident walking in to my mother's room at night and dropping his trousers, on most visits her hair was dirty and she was in dirty clothes, I once found someone in her bed, and the final straw as social services alerting me to her well-being, and on my last visit, i decided to change her in to a clean top, only to see her arms completely bruised from her wrists to her shoulders. Keep well clear of this place, I suspect it will be closed down in a matter of months.

This place is an absolute disgrace. My mum entered happy and physically fit but suffering with dementia. We finally managed to removed her after a serious of major concerns which Oakham Grange refused to address - despite constant calling, emailing and meetings... She left 2 stone lighter, very anxious and covered in bruises - and a huge deterioration in her general health. It should be shut down.
