Bit of a hit and miss. We go to the old garages regularly and love it there so thought would give it a try here. Some food items were incredible (roast dinner and pot pie) others were not up to standard. The beef noodle dish was sent back due to be extremely bland and bad quality especially for the high prices they are charging. The roast was amazing except the Yorkshire puddings were definitely not fresh. Very stale and burnt. Sadly to top it off their version of apple crumble was anything but where was the crumble? It was basically hot fruit with oats sprinkled on top. Couldn’t eat it. Custard was great tho!We went on Sunday afternoon and the place was notably dead with only 3 tables which makes me wonder if this is a consistent problem and not just a one off.Pub is aesthetically gorgeous, staff super friendly hopefully the food can get a bit better and this place would be great!

Went last night as a late decision. Chicken in the basket was dry and my steak tasteless. The pie was tasty. Ice cream lovely. Overpriced. The chap who served us was very welcoming

Had the most amazing dinner at the øld pub last night. We were served by Matt and he was wonderful, some of the best service me and my partner have ever come by! The food was just as stunning. Pricing was fair due to the quality of food provided and they were very understanding of my gluten free dietary requirements. We will 100% be back again!

Came for a roast on Sunday. The pub is lovely! Beautiful inside and out. We were pretty disappointed with (some of) the service. Kept repeatedly asking for high chairs. Asked for water 3 times. The roast was really poor for £19 a roast you get a tiny portion of microwaved veg and reheated roast potatoes. Gravy was made from granules and no cauliflower cheese. Such a shame as the pub and staff are so welcoming. Will come back if the food is improved.

Good food, with daily specials. Emphasis on fresh and local, all of which is good to see. Staff are very knowledgeable if you ask questions about the food or wine. Pricing is pretty high - will be interesting to see if it's sustainable to run a business with this price point, in this location. Would have liked more veg with the steak pie, but quality was excellent.

First time visiting, very impressed. Fantastic service, really friendly staff and very welcoming. We only walked there for a drink but stayed for dinner as we liked what we saw and were so glad we did. The food was fantastic, the beer and wine selection top notch. The atmosphere was relaxed and all other customers seemed to be in good spirits which topped it off. An unexpectedly brilliant evening, a big thank you to everyone involved at the Black Swan!
