I never knew about Hungary Hearts until about 2 weeks ago. We then checked them out, spoke to people who had adopted from them, and took a look at the dogs on the website. One caught my eye, so I applied, and within 24 hour we had a response and then were asked to video our downstairs and garden. The dogs were coming over that Friday, so it all happened really fast. But Hungary Hearts answered all our questions and sent loads of videos of the dog interacting with both adults and children. We collected our dog on Friday, and Joshi has been amazing so far. They come across to England in a large van with cages, are vaccinated and with a pet passport. I highly recommend Hungary Hearts, they do an amazing job with the stray dogs, by taking them in and finding them forever homes, and they literally only charge an amount to cover their costs.

We adopted Heras (now Honey) in April 2021. She is the funniest, cuddliest, crazy dog ever. Honey truly is a very happy, contented and somewhat spoilt pooch. Recall is pretty good and she has lots of off lead time carefully chosen due to her quite high prey/chase instinct (the street dog in her will never go) but it is our job as pawrents to ensure not only is she safe but that livestock and wildlife is too. She did lose an eye three months after we got her but it has most certainly never held her back and nor would we let it.The process that Hungary Hearts has in place for the dogs from rescue, time at the sanctuary to then ensuring that they go to the right homes is seriously second to none.My only regret? that I can't adopt more.If you have room in your heart then Hungary Hearts are for you.We remain forever grateful that Hungary Hearts trusted us to bring Honey into our lives. We are truly blessed.Sharon (and Honey)

We adopted Jessica from HHDR 5 weeks ago and dispite her being shy at first once she gained her trust in us, she has come on leaps and bounds. Her recall is amazing and has learnt sit, lay, and roll over in no time. I would strongly recommend HH, the work they do is amazing. The staff are lovely. Wish we could do more to help this charity it's so upsetting to see and hear what some of these poor dogs have gone through. We were recommended by a friend to look at Hungary Hearts and are so glad we adopted through them.

I discovered Hungary Hearts when I was searching online during lockdown for a suitable dog to adopt. Now I had retired I needed a little companion that would be OK with my cat. This would be my first dog so wanted to make the right decision. I am so glad I found HH. They have so many lovely dogs that they have rescued and found good homes for. Hilda and her team do such good work saving so many dogs and getting them ready to be rehomed. A thorough process of adoption which is not for profit and entirety with the aim of saving as many dogs as possible. I would definitely always adopt. I have got the most perfect, gentle little dog through HH. She has been so easy to look after. A great Facebook community too with good support.

We have fostered a few dogs from Hungary Hearts and each of them has been as described. It’s a joy top see them transform from a confused and sometimes scared dog, into one who learns to enjoy their long overdue good life. Each one have been difficult to say goodbye to but each adopter has been well vetted to ensure they are able and prepared to offer a top home. I now volunteer for them and recommend them at every opportunity.

We adopted our two adorable dogs 3 weeks ago. We did a lot of searching for the right charity to use as there are so many out there and it is difficult to know if they have good ethics etc.Within 2 days of filling out a query form, we were given a call and had a long and informative chat about the dogs. This was followed up by a zoom meeting and WhatsApp correspondance with the founder Hilda (who is amazing!) All our questions were answered and photos sent every day until we could get down to collect our dogs. What is brilliant is the access to after care support if needed: a behaviourist for free, and Hilda and other volunteers only a message away.Yesterday we went to meet our local vet. She was really impressed that all vaccines had been given and - most of all - how settled they were. She said that often the rescues she sees are quite restless.I attribute this to the care the dogs are given right from when they are rescued in Hungry to settling in the UK.I really cannot recommend Hungry Hearts enough!

Hungary Hearts is an incredible rescue. The dogs are always put first, their care and well being is the most important thing. We adopted a large rescue dog from them and we were really well looked after and our chosen dog cared for from start to finish. Infact, I was so impressed that I now volunteer for HHDR and have enjoyed every moment of helping them to save move dogs from certain death and torture. We have since adopted again and foster dogs too. This is a genuine review, unlike some you will see, and you are more than welcome to contact me any time to ask more. Well done HHDR for over 10 years of saving lives - having seen the 'other' side of rescue I appreciate how hard it can be, yet how rewarding it is when an abandoned soul is saved and finds a perfect home for life

I gave this company my dog to rehome as he had bitten my 3 year old and drew blood, and my child was scared they promised me the dog wouldn't go to a family with kids. They lied! They rehomed the dog to a family with 2 little kids and DID NOT INFORM THE FAMILY THAT THE DOG HAD BITTEN BEFORE! the family did ask and they told them that he's had no agressive history before and he's great with kids. So be warned they lie to get your money, they only care about the profit they make from the animals.
