Dog Training Centre of Excellence

Andy is very experienced with dog handling and understands all the different personalities of different breeds and of different ages. He tailors the training around the dogs and the behaviours he sees in the session and uses your own dog to demonstrate handling and corrections (sometimes making you look like a mug, when your dog doesn't do it for you)! Dog training is not a quick behaviour fix, so don't expect miracles in a few sessions, but if you remain consistent in and out of sessions, you'll learn a lot about how to have a happy relationship with your dog. We've been bringing our Rottweiler puppy since he was 3 months old and he's 9 months now. We want to continue his training, perhaps including ability and scent training, both of which can be done here.

A Fantastic place to bring your dogs!!! learning yourself how to get your dogs to work for you and you having confidence with your dogs in obedience, agility and socialising. Very professional and friendly all the staff! Andy & Jane are wonderful experienced trainers!

The anti-social (grumpy) dog classes are amazing! We have been to so many other dog classes and trainers and have never learnt so much in just the 2 classes we have been to in the past 2 weeks. Andy and Jane are both amazing with their training and knowledge and we have seen such a change in our Shar Pei already and can’t wait to learn more each week! Thank you both - 5 star training!

Taken my rescue Akita here a few times now. Tried a couple other, positive only, trainers before and they made no difference, but every session since my first day here I'm able to see improvements! We're really getting somewhere now thanks to DTCE, will be here every chance we get from now on. The guys here seem to really understand how a dogs brain works instead of just following the latest training theories, if you want results or you just want a stronger bond with your dog, this is the place to go!

I have been taking my puppy to the dog training centre since she was a couple months old, she is now 12 months. Every class is excellent and now we are enjoying agility training which is great. Mark the instructor is Brilliant. I never imagined my little havenese pup Evita would be capable but after the first week she took to it. Thanks to the fabulous patience of Mark and hisunderstanding all of our dogs abilities and personality. He know how to read every dogs needs.

Fantastic training we really enjoy Andy's classes Billy was awful on his lead but with lots of work his really improved still more to do, cant wait to get back to his class once Billy is well highly reccomend

Having so much fun doing agility and training classes with my three dogs who are all very different breeds and natures under Andy’s expert guidance. Having worked in the veterinary profession for 16 years, I’ve cared for many difficult patients and always recommend Andy and his lovely team so that they can reap the same rewards that I’ve seen in my own dogs since we started. The bond I share with each of them now has really deepened, especially after recently losing my oldest dog this has been a game changer for us and it gives me quality time with my own pack when I’m not busy fixing everyone else’s pets. I just wish they had classes for teenagers too!

We were first time gun dog owners, did all the puppy training somewhere else and managed to turn him into a complete narcissist with treats and lack of boundaries. Literally in tears and with my husband ready to to re-home him, I found DTCE and the naughty dog class. Andy was so empathetic to our situation and has given us the tools and confidence to start fresh. I can honestly say I wish I had found him sooner, but with his support the change in us and our ginger nutter is massive. Please don’t hesitate to try out training and doggy social, I found everyone to be kind and nonjudgmental.

We rescued three six year old breeding miniature schnauzers nearly three years ago. They are great at home but two have issues with other dogs when walking outside. We have had a number of one to one trainers over past years with very little progress however; with just two sessions so far with Andy and a group of dogs with similar issues WOW we are now finally getting somewhere. Andy explained how dogs behave, the way they see us the owners and methods that we need to perform ourselves not only to help the dogs but us the owner who ultimately have the responsibility as a leader of the pack. We find his methods informative and fun, but more importantly a glimmer of light at the end of a testing tunnel is now seen. Thank you Andy from Paul, Lynn and our girls Rosie and Beccie, we look forward to our next session. We know it’s a long road but feel confident we are now going in the right direction.

We attend puppy classes weekly, and cannot recommend highly enough. Andy is fantastic and has made puppy training so much easier. He is very knowledgeable and fantastic at explaining the reasoning behind training techniques.
