Acorn Lodge Gatwick

My experience staying here has always been amazing. This is my go to place when travelling to and from Gatwick Airport. The experience is exceptional, could not ask for better treatment from the hotel staff. The recent refurbishments are also fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay close to the airport.

Overall, a two-star hotel in my opinion.Pros: location (super close to Gatwick Airport), good service, priceCons: cleanliness (room floor wasn't hoovered and overall didn't feel clean), TV wasn't working (turned on but no channels or YouTube/Netflix working), breakfast (only cornflakes, toast, pot noodles. To use coffee machine, you needed coins)

Great price, quirky hotel. Decor in need of a bit of an update but we were very happy to stay before flying out the next day. Breakfast wasn’t great but coffee nice. Did the job for us and service was brilliant. Thank you so much

Recently taken over by a caring family. Not all rooms were finished but this hotel is so much better than some reviews. Rooms spotlessly clean. En suite facilities excellent. Checking in and out very friendly. Small car park. Breakfast not great (pot noodles and cakes????) But just 5 minutes from Gatwick Airport the location is great pre or post flight.

Worst place I have ever stayed. May have been a 4* hotel 20 years ago, would struggle to get 2* now.Firstly informed after arrival that the advertised shuttle bus no longer runs.Reception staff was very rude, however his boss was around and a lot more polite.The hotel was red hot with no way of controlling it.The room was filthy with aged furniture and only 1 plug on the opposite side of the room from the bed.Curtains would not cover the window.The shower was hanging off the wall and the windows were mouldy. The shower had no hot water for the 3 hours we were waiting and being told give it 5 minutes

WARNING, I think this hotel are writing their own reviews as it is definatly NOT a 5 star experience. Completely disgusting hotel, avoid at all costs. I was a female traveller on my own and felt very unsafe and frightened in this hotel. There was a strange man sleeping in the dark hallway when I arrived. The hotel smelt disgusting, like it has a problem with cockroaches. The room was horrific and I could hear what I thought were rats in the wall caveties. Avoid this hotel" if at all possible. There is also no shuttle service to and from airport as is proclaimed on the Internet. The staff are vaguely polite which was the only redeeming feature. I got the impression the receptionist was ashamed of the hideous place he was having to offer up to paying customers. Completely avoid!"

An unexpected layover lead me to the acorn for an inexpensive overnight. Absolutely great value for money, very lovely and varied breakfast and fantastic service. The room was spacious with a nice big soaker tub ( perfect for this weary Canadian traveller!) Short taxi ride from the airport ( aprox £10)

Super quick, easy and cheap bus ride from gatwick airport. No need for taxi. Literally one quick bus ride drops you off right In front of the place.This is a decent affordable inn that ticked the boxes for an overnight stay before a flight. People who are ripping the acorn lodge apart…. Did you expect a Hilton or posh boutique experience for this price???Pros:Staff very friendly and helpfulBeautiful little town(village?)Nice short walk to AMAZING PUBClean basic roomTASTY Indian restaurant on siteBIG bathtub(sparkling clean)Someone at the desk at all hours and front door locked( felt secure)For the price, we did not expect anything other than a basic safe stay and that is what we got. For the price of the accommodation, definitely a 5 star rating. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate. Location was central to transport and shopping facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 10 nights and it was only a 5 minute drive to the airport for our flight home to Australia.

This hotel was class all round, staff were so friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location and was extremely clean. Perfect for a good value hotel. The food was excellent! Couldn’t recommend any more and will definitely return. I’d like to thank Kas who couldn’t do enough for us at the reception.
