I had exceptional eyecare today from Yasmin (Redhill?) and the prescreening by Kirsty. The level of care and engagement by Yasmin beats any other eye test I have ever had before (and I am now 65). Yasmin diagnosed an allergic reaction to dust in my loft (Christmas decoration time!) and used several techniques to confirm her diagnosis (as well as do the standard eye test). The degree of her knowledge, engagement and professionalism was exemplary and reinforced my choice of your Castle Boulevard practice. As long as you have Optometrists of the calibre of Yasmin, I will return and recommend to others too. Truly exceptional service!!!

We have been customers of Boots Opticians for a significant number of years and have always had first-rate service. This time, however, there were several problems with the prescription and glasses which rendered them unwearable. I first returned to the branch and flagged up a problem within a fortnight of collection. At first, other options were suggested and it took a few weeks for a repeat eye check to be finally offered. The second eye check revealed that the first examination was incorrect, however I was then advised that I was out of the guarantee period of 30 days. This is really shocking. I stood my ground but it should not even have been suggested that I would have to pay the full replacement cost. Boots should not expect the customer to stand the cost of replacing glasses that are based on an incorrect eye examination by their staff which are first notified a fortnight after collection. I'm fortunate that I'm not old, frail or infirm, in awe of perceived authority or just too frightened to stand up for myself. I still think staff at this particular branch are personable, helpful and professional (particularly those from whom we have received excellent customer service for many years), however I was badly let down on this occasion. I just hope that the replacement glasses will be correct this time.

Laziness has made me stay there for nearly 10 years but enough is enough.The staff who aren't opticians have always been useless..but now rude.Especially if you're lucky enough for them to answer the phone.My last conversion was like talking to a petulant 15 year old, who was answering his phone in estate subway.UNBELIEVABLE BOOTS OPTICIANS!Lost lenses and orders the norm,Forgetting my name 3 times after being corrected 3 times at reception.Asked to collect orders that wasn't ready 4 times... wasted journeys.The staff don't know what other members have said or supposedly noted.Big turn over of staff but never changes.There's so much more but not enough time or energy.The actual opticians are great, professional and well mannered.Such a shame about the rest.If you like having your time wasted this is definitely the place for you.

The ophthalmologist was really lovely and seemed very efficient. But it seems to take a long time, once you have selected your frames, to get your bill ready! So you spend hours there.

I've been going to this branch since the beginning of this century and have always enjoyed a first rate experience. This time I was sent upstairs and there I sat for 25 minutes (after my appt. start time), just waiting.I needed to get back home for work so I left and will not be going back.

This was my first visit to boots opticians. The optometrist (I think her name was Jasmine?) carried out a very thorough examination and identified an issue with the contact lens prescription provided by another high street optician. She clearly knew her stuff and it was so nice to have confidence in what I was being told for once. She went above and beyond to ensure I had the right prescription for me.

I was informed to bring my contacts with me and wear my glasses as had an eye test and contact lens check only to be informed when I got there I should be wearing my lenses!! I would have to wait about half an hour for my lenses to “settle” before having my check. I was also told I didn’t need an eye test as I had one a year ago!!! It was boots that wrote to me to book my eye test!! I informed your advisor I wanted my eye test due to glaucoma in my family. He then started to say NHS guidelines had changed recently! How am I suppose to know that!! Eyes are precious and when they’re is glaucoma running down generations in my family I’m not prepared to take that risk. It was a whole farce from start to finish and I hadn’t got time to wait an additional half an hour as I don’t even live local to the store. So it’s now caused another inconvenience as I’ve now had to re book these appointments!It was bad enough last year and the experience since I came to boots a year ago had been horrendous!!
