Friendly staff. We stayed in a cottage, not in the hotel. The cottage wasn't clean during our 4-day, 3 nights stay. It's gorgeous though and it has everything you need. It's a bit off the track though.

Excellent value for money with a fantastic room, beautiful grounds and a really friendly team. It is dog friendly and he loved it especially walking around the gardens! We ate in the bar and the food was delicious and the portions we're huge! We definitely go back!

I simply do not understand the 5 star reviews here. Apart from the location and building exterior everything about Irton Hall is below average, tired and poor value. The double bed was two singles pushed together, the room was bland with poor quality furniture and no design style (unless beige featureless MFI is a style?) the luxury jacuzzi made a noise like a jet engine which ruined the small impact it delivered. The food was okay but far from good. The service decidedly mixed, the receptionist was excellent but the bar staff excelled in taking orders without speaking and more or less threw our meals on the table, the breakfast staff were well intentioned and did the best they could but lacked any a management support. The bar area and restaurant were almost as bland as the room and it took a while to find a seat that didn't need reupholstering. No guest lounge, no outside seating (which given that was the best part of the property especially odd). We had a good 2 night stay but only because the location is so good but a premier inn would have delivered better value. A place very much in need and deserving modernisation.

Outstanding! Stayed here only 1 night and wish it was longer! The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and rooms are very high standard. We had a jacuzzi in the huge bathroom. Evening meal was amazing quality and generous portions. Same as the wonderful breakfast. Incredible!!

We stayed here for Scafell Pike, which is about a 25-minute drive from here. It is a beautiful place in outstanding location. We hired the clock tower cottage, which has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large open-plan kitchen/ living area, and a patio. The kitchen was fully equipped. We could park just outside the cottage.Getting there is a tricky drive. Please do not follow the Google maps. Stay on main A road until the last two miles of drive. There is no one on site after 10 pm. We had to call earlier to arrange the collection of keys. Although very short but we enjoyed our stay here.

beautiful place , our group of 9 stayed in the clock tower , we are a team that works for a ghost hunting company and this was our team weekend get together weekend break , it was fabulous . very clean . the staff are very polite , the food was delicious , and the other guests from all walks of life and culture very friendly and talkative , we would highly recommend to anyone and everyone that irton hall is a place to visit we certainly will be back , just one couple sat behind us sharing a pizza , ACTING very high class , needs to look up the word chav ,( they clearly do not know what one is , noun. ˈchav. plural chavs. British slang, disparaging. : a young person in Britain of a type stereotypically known for engaging in aggressively loutish behavior especially when in groups and for wearing flashy jewelry and athletic casual clothing (such as tracksuits and baseball caps)...... as that is what they called our group and pulling faces behind our backs ..... was clearly only 2 CHAVS having dinner that night , as everyone could clearly see , very rude and uneducated clearly , i wanted to go buy them a pizza so they dident have to share as i felt sorry for them , but was on the understanding it was best not give them reason to linger a little longer . never bothered the staff with the little incident as they was looking after us so well we dident want to make them think they let anyone of us down as they carnt do enough for you . BIG 5 star from us all thank you irton hall
