The Cycleway

Superb service! I called up at lunchtime as Halfords (across the road from my house) was unable to do the repair before tomorrow evening (too late). The Cycleway rang back really quickly and said they could come over to me. He drove over quickly and serviced my bike at a great rate. A personal service too - as I was able to explain some issues with the gears that had been a problem for years. That is also now fixed with a good explanation so that I know what's going on with the bike. So basically - great value, great service - friendly and very knowledgeable and professional staff. My bike's working better than it has done in ages.

I popped in on 26/08 to get some brake pads and better pedals for my vintage Raleigh Caprice bike. The man working there was really helpful and put the pedals on for me whilst I waited as the original 30+ year old pedals on my bike had zero grip and I've been slipping off them whilst commuting to work in the rain. It's made a huge difference and I feel a lot safer on my bike. I've booked it in for a commuter service next week as I originally purchased my bike for occasional weekend use 4 years ago and have now been using it to commute 9+ miles to work so I need it to be in better condition! The service in the shop was friendly and efficient which I'm happy about as this is the closest bike shop to my flat.

The best bike shop in the area: Sam was a good listener and understood my concerns as a short rider with small hands. He offered excellent advice to shorten the stem, which allowed me to have a strong and comfortable grip of the brakes. He fixed a few other things efficiently and gave my bike a new look by re-taping the handlebars blue. The collection and return service was brilliant. Reasonable price, professional service and friendly owners, I highly recommend The Cycleway!

Firstly, I was super impressed by the very reasonably priced collection/return service, so we were off to a great start. As I wasn't going to be around at the time of collection, I rang Sam in advance to discuss the issues I was having with my bike. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable & didn't make me feel stupid for not having a great deal of knowledge about bikes myself, beyond being able to ride one. My bike was ready in just over one day - new tyres, bell, brake pads, cables, chain removed, cleaned & greased - the whole works. Efficient service, from a very decent man at fair & competitive rates. What more could you want? At the time of writing, I have not had the chance to ride my revamped wheels. However I am confident that it will be great when I do, and that if there were any niggles, Sam would be able to sort them out. It's really lovely to be able to support a local, independent rather than a chain. So what are you waiting for? You owe it to your bike! Oh yeah, he also does maintenance classes.

Really friendly experience and super quick service, especially in the current climate!Sam offered advice on what the problem was and his options for the fix. As soon as the part arrived the bike was sorted and back with me.Will definitely be going back in future.

I MEGA recommend Sam at the Cycleway. Went for the full service. The bike now rides like new! Also, Sam noted and completely fixed a slightly loose headset (it was set up by the manufacturer incorrectly, and despite several emails to the manufacturer and subsequent small tweaks, their support team couldn't fix it - it was something I had resigned to live with a while ago). He kept me in the loop, explaining the issue clearly, making sure I was happy with the decisions that needed to be made. Amazing customer service! And amazing value too. Will visit again. 10/10

We chose this place based on the other positive reviews and were pleased that we did! Very happy with the service we received from Sam. The collection and return service is very useful if you have a bike which is not in good enough condition to ride to the shop. We had 2 collected and both were returned within a few days - one had a commuter service and returned clean and shiny and a much smoother ride than before, the other had a bottom bracket replacement which came out cheaper than others had quoted me. Communication was easy and the work was done to a high quality - what more can I say! We will definitely use the Cycleway again next time.

Fantastic service. The Cycle Way are a very professional business. I was extremely impressed by their contact, punctuality and honesty.If you need ANYTHING doing to you bike look no further. The fact that they do a home visit makes life much easier for you. My bike needed some extra work doing so my mechanic, Sam, took it back to his garage and got it back to me in no time.Price was extremely reasonable too.

Brilliant, timely and friendly service. I was initially going to take my bike to a bike store I go pass on my travels, but after seeing the reviews of Cycleway I thought it would be nice to try a local business. The service was speedy and clearly Sam has in-depth knowledge of bikes, he even gave my partner some advice about small issues with her own bike. I would recommend the Cycleway and I know exactly where I will be heading to when my bike next needs a service.

Fantastic service and repair received. Sam is very knowledgeable and immediately gave me confidence he knew what he needed to do to fix my bike. Very reasonable costs, especially as he collected the bike himself, and the bike runs better than it did new I think. My new first choice for servicing and repairs.
