I had an extremely disappointing experience at Wickes on New Port Road with the store manager, Alex. Despite waiting patiently, Alex refused to serve me and made it abundantly clear that he had no intention of helping me reach the products that were out of my reach. It's worth noting that the forklift driver seemed more customer-oriented and willing to assist, but Alex ordered him to stay out of it. Instead, Alex instructed me to wait for an unreasonable 30 minutes, even though my time was limited. This kind of unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, and it's clear that customer service is not a priority for Alex or the store. I won't be returning to Wickes after this terrible experience. Other stores like Selco or B&Q offer much better service and respect for their customers.

Store Manager , Customer Service , Customer Relations, Installation Manager not even the store cat wants to answer my plea

Always seems really chaotic and disorganised when I visit. Staff seem unprofessional and undertrained. Will try and avoid in future.

My advice. Always buy online from Amazon preferrably, or even from Wickes online store, never buy any big item from the Wickes store. You'll know why after reading this. I had a terrible experience with the Wickes store at Newport Road in Cardiff. The person who seeved me was Kimberly. And her attitude is appalling. I bought a Bosch power drill, it was recommended to me by a clerk in the store. I did tell him that I will be using it on Masonry in particular a brick. He recommended couple of options. One is this Bosch drill. I unpacked it and tried it the same day. For my purpoae, this drill does not provide enough power. I brought the drill back to the store the next day, and requested a exchange to a more expensive model. Kimberly tried to figure out the policy, and read that policy to me, it said, all Bosch tools cannot be returned if been used. I ssked her whether this should have been read to me before the purchase. She became annoyed and loud, said that everything in the store cannot be returned if used. I asked even if I chose it based on the advice of the clerk in the store? And if it is a general policy, why do you have to read it from a card. She all but throw me out of the store. And talked in a distained tone, and said, I already told me the store policy, and I am not going to tell you again. I am not obligated to explain this to you. This is the worst shopping experience I have ever had in my life. I called the Wickes store online, I told them I want to buy the same item, but I am afraid it won't work for my purpose, I asked them whether I can return it if it didn't work for me, they said absolutely you can. So buy it online. Never from the store.Saw the reply from Wickes below. However, I would add that Kimberly didn’t even bother to open the case to see the condition of the power drill. I did explain that I just used it once, with a bit that I bought separately. I don’t think there is any visible change of the condition of the drill. I would argue, the same condition and never used are two different policies. I also argue that she read out loud to me the return policy of from a card. It hardly make sense if all items have the exact policy, they need to list Boche separately in a card. Just my opinion. But either way, my point stays true. Just don’t buy it from them. If I went home and bought the item from Amazon, it would have been cheaper and I wouldn’t have to worry about return policy at all.

Really pleased with our experience with Wickes, Newport Road Cardiff. I ordered my items for collection on the same day.Wickes contacted me throughout as they advised they’d be behind which was completely fine. When they were ready for us to collect they’d also notified us.When we arrived some of the timber did have damage and they couldn’t complete the quantity of the order but they’d gave us the appropriate refund and money off.Despite being incredibly busy they managed to help us throughout our purchase and we greatly appreciate that.

Builder be aware don’t shop thereIt’s a waste of time of your valuable time .Been witness to a disturbing event when a manager called Alex refused to serve a customer because he didn’t feel like it and made it clear .Very poor customer service

Discount DIY store. The quality isn't amazing overall. The shop feels slightly sad, but it is quiet and you won't be bothered. Accessible throughout.

dreadful communication between each department. my kitchen has been an ongoing case for almost 3 years and there’s always continuous mistakes (wrong kitchen colour, wrong worktops, awful installation, etc.). still unhappy with my kitchen and installation as i’ve been given the wrong worktop alongside the other mistakes. go through with the installation at your own risk! it’s not cheap and it’s definitely NOT worth it.
