Etherow Country Park
Great place it does get busy around the lake, the hike up through the forest for me was well worth the visit. We will definitely be going back.

Etherow Country Park
We had a lovely walk around the lake and through the woods, which on a got day like today gave a bit of respite from the sun and allowed the dogs to cool down. There's a fair few amenities and bins throughout which is always a bonus and meant the country park was nice and clean. The only downside we felt was the smell at times going round from the ducks/geese/swans but is to be expected somewhat when walking around a lake. Most importantly, the dogs had a good time having sniffs

Wonderful amenity for walking. Largely flat and well-maintained footpaths are easy for all ages. Public conveniences at either end of the park, but those at the far end always seem to be closed.Basic catering amenities, and a quaint little garden centre with refreshments add to the charm of the place. Sailing club active on the lake in the warmer months. Lots of birds and waterfowl to appreciate.

Etherow Country Park
I visited Etherow Country Park recently, and I must say I was disappointed. The water was brown and muddy, making it less appealing. The footpaths were wet, and there was even a fallen tree blocking one of them. The overall maintenance left much to be desired. Hope they can improve the conditions.

Etherow Country Park
Etherow Park is a lovely place to visit at any time of the year. It offers easy and picturesque trails around the lake. The park is bigger than it looks, and there are several woodland walks at its far end. There are numerous aquatic bird species here(including Canadian geese, goldeneye ducks, and swans), so bring plenty of bird food! There is a large carpark located at the front of the park, but it is pay and display. Also located here is a cafe which sells a variety of hot beverages and snacks. This is a good place to bring your kids, but please do note that it does not have a playground. For the less mobile, there are several benches located around the lake, but only the odd one on the woodland walks.

Etherow Country Park
Well laid-out paths around the lake that are flat and accessible to all leading to the wier. There are more challenging walks available into the further reaches of the park or up into Ernocroft Wood. There's a reasonably-sized car park and a café that's open at peak times.

Lovely place for a relaxing walk with the family. We'll worth a few hours here, kids will love feeding the ducks.

Parking available at the car park. Simply Google etherow country park car park.Payment at the machine which is at the entrance to the car park.Parking costs-1 hour - 90p2 hours - £1.203 hours - £2.30All day - £3.60.Free for blue badge up to 3 hoursToilets available.Cafe available.Dogs allowed ( would suggest leads as its very busy and lots of birds and ducks. )This isn't a large country park by any means. You can walk around the water within half an hour. There is a path all the way around but boots or wellies advised as its muddy in places. You can make the walk longer by going around the Ernocroft Wood which is right next to it.Very busy at weekends with families, pets and children.Great for a quick walk or a drink at the cafe.

An amazing day out with our Duke at Etherow Country Park, aka #etherowcountrypark.Didnt get to do the full hike all the way around as kept getting distracted. Can't wait to go back and complete the rest of the walk that is a lot more woodland based. ;)Highly recommend it if you fancy walking for a couple of hours in the world of peace & nature. If your up to it and a little adventuraous, certainly take some of the little off route tracks and explaore a little.
